This story is somewhat unique in that Calvary is more of a church plant than it is a revitalization or replant. Trinity was down to 20-25 members when they reached out to Calvary for help. The outcome was incredible! But it wasn't easy.

During his tenure, a crisis struck his town. A building caught fire at the West Fertilizer Company storage and distribution facility in West. It led to an ammonium nitrate explosion occurred that leveled about half the town. In the summer of 2025 we had several guests join us by Zoom to talk to our ministers about preaching. This podcast is a recording of one of those conversations, which we are releasing as a series. Dr. Moody also earned a Ph.D. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Laura is the Women's & Pastor Wives Associate for the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention and long-time pastor's wife. She graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. For the last 25 years, she has been involved in women’s ministry as coordinator, retreat planner and speaker. She teaches for the Cleburne Christian Women Job Corp and teaches God’s word to women.
