What happens when the CEO of South Africa’s Financial Planning Institute drops wisdom bombs on the U.S. advice industry? You listen up. In this global-minded episode, Adam and Derek sit down with Lelané Bezuidenhout to unpack why South Africa might just be leapfrogging the U.S. in the evolution of financial advice.
From artist to industry leader, Lelané shares a fresh, no-nonsense take on why financial advice must stop being about pushing products and start being a lifelong partnership rooted in purpose, transparency, and empathy. Think "tour guide," not "trinket peddler."
Whether you're an advisor ready to ditch the sales-first mentality or just curious about how values-driven advice can shake up a whole profession, this episode is a wake-up call from the other side of the world — and yes, it includes Ubuntu.

Sometimes the best way to see what’s broken and figure out how to fix it is to take an outside looking inside approach. That’s just what our guest did when we left a long career in marketing to become a financial advisor. Join us as we unpack this and other Eric-ism’s in this fun and thought provoking episode.
