Living By A Code
What is a Code? Why is it important for us to live by a code? The examples of the Rechabites in Jeremiah 35 and the Japanese Samurai show us the importance of living by a code. The killing of Kitty Genovese in 1964 and the Miracle of the Hudson pulled off by Capt Sully in 2009 show us the ills of not living by a code and the benefits of living by one respectively. The success of our relationships depend largely on our decision to live by a code. The best code I can think of is THE DIVINE CODE! The Divine Code states that we live a life of love. Not just any type of love but a sacrificial love that originates from the Divine and helps us to live in harmony, in peace, in joy. The Benefits of living by a code are many. Chief among them is that it helps us to overcome the deadly problem of cognitive dissonance. It also attracts the right people to you and helps you to cultivate the right kind of relationship. Black Lives Matter, All Lives Matter. The Problem of Rape and other evils in our society will be tackled if we help children to have a moral identity from childhood. You cannot instil a moral identity in children if you do not have one. Anyone who speaks honestly will tell you that when we live without a code or violate the code we live by, it causes pain. There is no reason for us to make life more difficult for ourselves by living without a code. So, what code are you going to live by? What are you going to do moving forward? Do you really want to build better relationships? Do you want to be part of the solution or compound the problem? The choice is yours! I'm Daniel Ogunjimi. Relationship Matters and Mind Development.
Resolving Internal Conflicts Part 1
To establish good relationships with God and other people, we need to have good relationships with ourselves. When the internal crises are resolved, it becomes easier for us to reach out and connect with the external world. As humans, we have a tendency to make decisions based on emotions and then find facts after the fact to back up the decisions we have made. There are things we think we know that we know but we don't. This is Anosognosia! And it leads to self delusion. In this episode, we want to answer the following questions: Why do we need to resolve internal conflicts? What are these internal conflicts? How do we resolve these internal conflicts within us? Our mental health will benefit a great deal when we are able to resolve the internal conflicts we have. The people around us will also get to know us and what we stand for. Consequently, we will be able to establish meaningful relationships with others because we have a good intrapersonal relationship ourselves. I hope you learn from it. Cheers!

Our True Identity
Discovering who we really are is essential to defining our relationships. Our identity comes from our beliefs. Our beliefs come from our knowledge. It is possible to gain accurate knowledge that will cause a change in our beliefs and consequently a change in our identity. Listen to find out who we are and how we can return to being who we are supposed to be.

Where Did We All Go Wrong?

Scriptures is a Book of Relationships. From the first verse to the last, there is a continuing story of the unfolding relationship between God and His Creation, God and Mankind as a special creature, man and his fellow man, man and other creatures. Each Book has three participants--the Holy Spirit, the author and the original recipients. The Holy Spirit guided men to write down  the mind of God, the mess man has made, and the way out of this mess.

Ecclesiastes 7.29 explains that we were properly made but we have sought out our own ways. Betrayal, Infidelity, Selfishness, Loneliness, Criminal acts, Revenge, Unforgiving spirit, Terrorism, Wars, Racism, Genocide, Homicide, Suicide are some of the terrible outcomes of the schemes humans have devised.

To fix the problem, we need to identify the source of the problem. Instead of treating symptoms, we need to treat the disease. Knowing where we all went wrong is the way to do that. Then, we can begin to explore the implications of following the propositions that God present to us in His Word.

What are these propositions?

1. That we enjoy good communion with him and look like Him since He made us in His own image.

2. That our interpersonal relationships derive its meaning from our relationship with Him

3. That we express His love as we experience it to all men irrespective of race, gender, or their relationship with us.

4. That we pursue justice, equity and selflessness in all our dealings.

What do we need to do?

Debug our relationship software to identify all the loopholes in it. Some common loopholes include lack of vulnerability, poor emotional intelligence, selfishness in stealth mode, poor mind management model.

We'll explore all these in greater detail subsequently.

Thanks,

Daniel Jimi
