58. breaking free from your patterns with self liberation coach iman sanj

In this episode of Recalibrate, I have a conversation with Iman Sanj, a self liberation coach who designs experience that help you find home within yourself. Exploring topics from self-awareness to purpose-driven living, Iman touches on embracing uncertainty, reconnecting with one's intuition, learning to sit with emotions, and the benefits of adopting a values-based approach to life. Recounting her transformative journey, she stresses the importance of consistent compassion, mindfulness, and acceptance, while deconstructing societal pressures towards achievement-based living. Iman also shares tips on cultivating a safe space within oneself, broaches the topic of combating feelings of loss, and emphasizes the significance of playfulness in personal growth instead of relying on rigidity and control.

Key Takeaways:

1. 🧘‍♀️ Acceptance as an Active Process - The concept of acceptance is outlined as an active process. It involves sitting with emotions, gaining awareness, and building resiliency towards negative emotions. We mention key books like "Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle & "Radical Acceptance" by Tara Brach for their perspective on acceptance. 2. 🚀 Listen to your Intuition - Iman and Jacey stress on the importance of honesty and how to actively rebuild your relationship with yourself to better tune into your intuition. The conversation acknowledges that the journey isn't always easy, especially if you've gotten used to ignoring those gut feelings. 3. 🎯 Prioritize Values over Achievements- The conversation pivots to focusing less on achievements and more on living a values-based life. The key is understanding oneself and focusing on things of importance. 4. 🔮 Navigate Uncertainty - The conversation explores why we choose certainty over happiness. They underline the importance of detaching from outcomes and embracing the uncertain. 5. 💖 Cultivate Consistent Compassion - Iman highlights the importance of consistency as it relates to compassion, especially in your relationship to yourself.

56. rediscovering home: how being vulnerable changed my life
Cue “Back in My Body” by Maggie Rogers because this girl is BACK. Today on the Recalibrate Podcast, I dive deep into my journey of homecoming and the transformative power of vulnerability. In this episode, I open up about a journal entry that I never intended to share—a raw and unfiltered glimpse into my thoughts and feelings. Little did I know, this act of vulnerability would create a ripple effect of connection and understanding.  I believe that the difficult feelings we often hide away are the very ones that bring us together. They remind us that we are all experiencing the shared human suffering. And by embracing and sharing our vulnerabilities, we create a space where others can feel seen and heard.  Throughout this episode, I explore the changes I've experienced over the past four months—transforming my entire life, yet feeling more like myself than ever. It's a journey of deep inner peace, contentment, and the ability to embrace all parts of myself without judgment.  You’re probably wondering, how did I get here? What caused this shift?   Tune in to discover the power of vulnerability, the beauty of shared human experience, and how embracing your truth can lead to a life of alignment, abundance, and self-acceptance. My Takeaways: 1️⃣ Embracing Vulnerability: By sharing a raw journal entry that I never intended to share, I created a ripple effect of connection among listeners. We have the power to connect through our shared human experiences and find solace in knowing we're not alone. 2️⃣ Contentment vs. Urgency: I have reached a place of deep inner peace and contentment with where I am in life. Instead of constantly reaching for the next thing, I have learned to sit with and appreciate the present moment. 3️⃣ The Power of Self-Discovery Through journaling and self-reflection, I was able to uncover the journey of self-discovery that led me to this place of transformation. By visualizing possibilities, taking action, and embracing my worth, I created a strong foundation of self-love and attracted incredible opportunities and connections.
