Twofer (2 Beautiful Vignettes of Jesus)
Mark 1:35-45 As we finish the first chapter of Mark’s gospel this week, we will dwell on the mercy of God. As we sing together, we will declare the following things about God’s mercy: 1. We would be lost without God’s mercy: Just as I am, I would be lost, but mercy and grace my freedom bought. 2. We see the fullness of mercy in Christ’s sacrifice: He left His Father’s throne above, so free, so infinite His grace; Emptied Himself of all but love, and bled for Adam’s helpless race. ‘Tis mercy all, immense and free; O praise my God, it reaches me. 3. The mercies of God are new every morning (Lamentations 3:23): Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see. 4. We prayerfully look forward to the fulfillment of God’s mercy: God speed the day struggles will end, faultless we’ll gaze on Your glory; Then we will stand overwhelmed by the mercy of God. 5. The mercy of God is greater and stronger than our sin: Praise the Lord! His mercy is more. Stronger than darkness, new every morn; Our sins they are many, His mercy is more.

The Church Devoted Together
Acts 2:42-47 Big Idea: Through the Gospel of Jesus, God calls a Gospel People to live in a Gospel Community and live out a Gospel Mission.  Gather Hebrews 10:24-25 – And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Grow Colossians 1:28 – Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. Give 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 – The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Go Matthew 28:18-20 – And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Govern Matthew 16:18-19 – I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
