Around halfway through the God Tour, I became motivated to stabilize my Self-realization, instead of it being an occasional remembrance limited mostly to my meditations.

So I started texting with Luuk Moelker—a fellow teammate and facilitator at Massaro University—who has stabilized in the nondual recognition of the “I Am” or “Aware-Being” or “God Consciousness” or whatever you might want to call it.

Luuk was enthusiastic, clear, and helpful with his guidance and feedback. This inspired me to reach out more and more—requesting that he “enlighten my perspective.”

We decided to turn our exchanges into a 4-part class series in Massaro University called “Getting Enlightened.”

This episode is the recording of our first class from September 14.

I take more of a transparent and raw approach with this episode because, well, I don’t know what I think yet! I’ve been at a new “spiritual” learning edge thanks to recent guidance from Bentinho Massaro, particularly at his recent Non-Duality clinic in Amsterdam. At the same time, I’ve been captivated by recent discussions by skeptics, atheists, and scientists on the topic of Consciousness. 

Interestingly, these topics seem to be converging around at least one really important question: is consciousness fundamental? In other words: is consciousness the fundamental “stuff” that gave rise to all the matter of the universe? Or did consciousness emerge as a byproduct of the physical matter in the universe?

What came first—molecules or awareness?
 
I don’t land on an answer in this episode, but I let you into my realtime process as I consider this topic from multiple angles.
 
I invite you (seriously, for real) to comment and “think with me” — elevate my exploration. What conversations or data points would support this learning trajectory I’m on?

Learning Intuitively requires a different “muscle” than the typical, structured learning we’re so used to from school and work. Intuitive learning happens when, instead of conceptually understanding the theory and verbiage of some new pursuit… you actually begin to enter its paradigm. In spirituality, this often feels like a breakthrough, or an awakening.

This is a personal essay I, Cory Katuna, wrote and recorded about the cult allegations surrounding Bentinho—someone I’ve worked with and known closely for a decade. What started as cathartic journaling after a brutal cancellation eventually became this article, and I’m grateful to finally be able to share it with all of you.

I originally recorded myself reading this article for my own podcast, Perspective, but then we decided to release it on Bentinho’s channel so all of his followers would get a chance to hear the other side of a salacious story.

This piece is not a counter-attack. I don’t name names and I share my perspective vulnerably and transparently, inviting readers/listeners into their own critical thinking and discernment.

In this article (and episode), I tell the truth as I see it. I talk about cancel culture, victim consciousness, deep spiritual work, the complexities of teacher-student dynamics, the reality of what it’s like to learn from Bentinho and be on our team, and my overall experience with a contentious and controversial topic.

Most importantly, I talk about the process of staying true in the fire; remaining in integrity with my True Self amidst confusion, chaos, and a storm of public backlash.

Validation-seeking is a slow, quiet killer of dreams. It’s among the most insidious stuck points I’ve had to face on my own path and one of the most common things I support others with.

In this episode of Perspective, I explore a wildly misunderstood question: What makes a friendship (or a community) feel safe? (Like, actually safe… not just comfortable or coddling). 

I talk about how today’s hot cultural trends result in “unsafe” social dynamics—the woke, DEI, “don’t offend anybody” movement and its “anti-woke” backlash are two extremes that lead to bad results.

I also tell a personal story that helps to highlight a variable of social “unsafety” in friendships.

(For the record, I’m putting the word “unsafe” in quotes here because I’m not talking about objective, physical safety in this episode—I’m talking about the subjective experience of feeling socially safe (NOT CODDLED) in friend groups or communities).

Finally, I (try to) land on a single quality that DOES actually cause (or help to create) that experience of social safety.

Okay it's official! Hola my friends, and welcome to Episode 1 of my new podcast: Perspective. In this episode I introduce myself and a little bit about why I feel so compelled to start this project... One of my main intentions is to bring a more honest and levelheaded voice into the public arena regarding spirituality, awakening, and—importantly—teams and communities like mine.

I've been a teammate and close friend of ⁨Bentinho Massaro⁩ for about a decade, and I've seen firsthand the cancellations and media takedowns he has endured for being an unconventional and confronting teacher of enlightenment on a large scale. This dichotomy between his mainstream reputation and the unprecedented merits I have experienced firsthand through his teachings, has been a remarkably rich source of learning, and something I'm eager to unpack from many angles on the podcast.

Another main intention is to bring smart people closer to enlightenment; to demystify spirituality for relatively competent, sane, openminded people. I also want to help spiritual people become more discerning and better critical thinkers. And I suppose on a personal level, I want to keep the flood gates of creativity open because that's what fulfills me (and intermittently scares me)—which means it's not going away any time soon. For those of you with a similar desire to express yourselves more authentically, more publicly, and more persistently, I also intend to motivate you, share the lessons and hacks I'm learning along the way, and to support your activation.

I'm looking forward to teaching, learning, bringing on guests, reflecting on other teachings and podcasts and books, sharing vulnerably about my realtime processes, and interacting with all of you.
