Josh and Antonio Have a New Podcast

Welcome to the Weekend Program on RHAP! Each weekend, Josh Wigler and Antonio Mazzaro get together to talk about their view of the ever-shifting television landscape. It doesn’t matter if it’s a show from 2024, 1994, or 1924 — if it’s got something to do with TV, then Josh and Antonio are all over it.

In their debut podcast, Josh and Antonio reintroduce themselves to RHAP, having been away in the Post Show Recaps mines for the past decade. They discuss their own origins as TV obsessives, use a timely milestone in TV history as a lens to talk about the power of the medium, and debate the merits of the current streaming service era.

Mr. Robot Series Finale Feedback | Goodbye, Friends

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) close up shop on Robot Road. In their final conversation about USA Network’s Mr. Robot (at least for now), Josh and Antonio dig into listener feedback, debate the merits of theorizing, different interpretations of the final scene of the series, and much more.
About Mr. Robot …
Rami Malek stars on USA Network’s Mr. Robot as Elliot Alderson, a computer hacker with dissociative identity disorder who alternately works with and against another facet of himself: Mr. Robot (Christian Slater), the spitting image of Elliot’s deceased father. Together and apart, Elliot and Robot have radically changed the world through their revolutionary acts, with a trail of bodies and billions of dollars left in their wake.
Additional cast includes Carly Chaikin as Elliot’s sister Darlene, Portia Doubleday as childhood friend Angela Moss, Martin Wallström as shark-suited Tyrell Wellick, Michael Cristofer as ruthless businessman Phillip Price, BD Wong as Minister Jiang aka Dark Army leader Whiterose, and Grace Gummer as federal agent Dominique DiPierro. Mr. Robot comes from the mind of Sam Esmail, who has directed every episode since season two.

Obviously, saying anything more here is saying way too much. If you have not yet seen the episode, do yourself a favor and watch it, then hear what Josh and Antonio have to say about it.

In their recap of “411 eXit,” Josh and Antonio plunge into the depths of the Washington Township power plant alongside Elliot (Rami Malek). The result: well… hard to spill the result without spoiling one of the strangest episodes of Sam Esmail’s USA Network thriller, which is saying something! Needless to say, a lot of shenanigans ensue. Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 10 Recap: “410 Gone”

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) pull over into the nearest rest station, because they’re in the middle of a Code Red emergency, to discuss “410 Gone.”

This week, the Mr. Robot podcast duo tackles “410 Gone,” which focuses almost entirely on Carly Chaikin’s Darlene Alderson and Grace Gummer’s Dom DiPierro. A tense road trip toward Budapest, Mr. Robot effectively signs off on Dom and quite possibly Darlene as well — unless that’s not at all what just happened! In the podcast, Josh and Antonio cover the possibilities, and look ahead toward the final three hours of the series.

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 9 Recap: “409 Conflict”

It’s raining chaos, and Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) have brought their umbrellas accordingly.

Josh and Antonio discuss “409 Conflict,” the ninth episode of the final season of Sam Esmail’s Mr. Robot. After several brutal installments in a row, Elliot (Rami Malek) and Darlene (Carly Chaikin) finally strike back against the Whiterose (BD Wong) empire, with a helpful assist from an unlikely ally: Phillip Price (Michael Cristofer). Josh and Antonio discuss the attack against the Deus Group, the casualties along the way, and that insane opening scene.

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) do their best to find the key to unlocking the latest hour of Sam Esmail’s Mr. Robot, “408 Request Timeout.”
Following on the heels of the devastating, groundbreaking “407 Proxy Authentication Required,” Josh and Antonio move forward into “408 Request Timeout,” an episode that lives up to its title: Elliot (Rami Malek) takes the time to confront the severity of what he’s just learned about his past, while the rest of the action centers on Darlene (Carly Chaikin), Dom (Grace Gummer) and Janice (Ashlie Atkinson). It does not work out so well for all of them — some worse than others.

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 6 Recap: “406 Not Acceptable”

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) bring their baseball bats to the podcast (but not their “Little B” hats) as they discuss the latest round of Mr. Robot.
In “406 Not Acceptable,” Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) crosses an uncrossable line by drugging a woman as a means of blackmailing her into helping target the Dark Army. What’s the cost of one life in service of taking down the biggest shadow conspiracy in modern human history? It’s the question on Elliot’s mind as he undertakes the action, and your answer and his may differ entirely.
Elsewhere in the episode, Fernando Vera (Elliot Villar) steps further out of the shadows and into the light as he tries to turn Krista (Gloria Reuben) into a weapon. His goal: break Elliot, and use him to conquer New York City. The end of the episode strongly indicates an imminent meeting of the minds between Elliot and Vera, their first showdown following the prison break and the subsequent death of Shayla (Frankie Shaw).

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 5 Recap: “405 Method Not Allowed”

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) script out all their thoughts on the latest episode of Mr. Robot and translate them to podcast via text to voice, as a grand tribute to the (mostly) dialogue-free “405 Method Not Allowed.”
In “405 Method Not Allowed,” creator Sam Esmail removes spoken dialogue from the equation for a largely wordless hour of the USA Network thriller. Elliot (Rami Malek) and Darlene (Carly Chaikin) break into Virtual Realty in an attempt to get their hands around the throat of the Deus Group’s money source, while Dominique DiPierro (Grace Gummer) is sent upstate to check on the burning Dark Army van left in the wake of “404 Not Found.” It’s all action, all the time, in a very special Christmas episode of Mr. Robot, and therefore a very special episode of the Mr. Robot podcast.
Josh and Antonio will be late with their podcast recap of “406 Not Acceptable,” so plenty of time for you to send in your questions and comments. Do so at by writing in to our email address or by reaching out on Twitter, and keep an eye out on your podcast feed on November 13.

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 4 Recap: “404 Not Found”

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) were lost in an effort to escape the howls of death. Now, one day later than expected, they are here with their recap of the eventful fourth episode of Mr. Robot season four, “404 Not Found.”
In “404 Not Found,” three men spend Christmas Eve by taking a walk through the woods — okay, technically two: Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) and his imaginary wingman Mr. Robot (Christian Slater), as well as Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallström). Their objective: find and destroy a Dark Army operative before he can report back to Whiterose (BD Wong) on their plans to thwart the Deus Group. The complication: they are completely lost, without any cell or internet service whatsoever, in very unfamiliar surroundings. The night does not end well for everyone; elsewhere, things go much better for Darlene Alderson (Carly Chaikin) as she tries to track down Elliot, but it’s a strange night for her as well.
Josh and Antonio dig into all of those corners of the Robot universe and more, in addition to answering questions from the listeners. Send your theories and feedback every week to our email address or by reaching out on Twitter.

Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 3 Recap: “403 Forbidden”

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) are each other’s wingman as they go on a date with the latest episode of USA Network’s Mr. Robot entitled “403 Forbidden.”
While there’s no major reveal like “the other one,” the fourth and final season’s third installment nonetheless pulls the curtain back on a major player: Whiterose (BD Wong). Specifically, “403 Forbidden” flashes back in time to reveal the greatest tragedy in Zhi Zhang’s life, paving the groundwork for the Dark Army leader’s enigmatic project. Beyond Whiterose, Elliot (Rami Malek) finds some common ground with a young woman named Olivia (Dominik Garcia), while Fernando Vera (Elliot Vilar) reemerges from the shadows — and whatever he has in mind, it’s probably bad news for Krista (Gloria Reuben).
Josh and Antonio dig into all of those corners of the Robot universe and more, in addition to answering questions from the listeners. Send your theories and feedback every week to our email address or by reaching out on Twitter.
About Mr.
