Mr. Robot | Season 4, Episode 9 Recap: “409 Conflict”
It’s raining chaos, and Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Antonio Mazzaro (@acmazzaro) have brought their umbrellas accordingly.
Josh and Antonio discuss “409 Conflict,” the ninth episode of the final season of Sam Esmail’s Mr. Robot. After several brutal installments in a row, Elliot (Rami Malek) and Darlene (Carly Chaikin) finally strike back against the Whiterose (BD Wong) empire, with a helpful assist from an unlikely ally: Phillip Price (Michael Cristofer). Josh and Antonio discuss the attack against the Deus Group, the casualties along the way, and that insane opening scene.
About Mr. Robot …
Rami Malek stars on USA Network’s Mr. Robot as Elliot Alderson, a computer hacker with dissociative identity disorder who alternately works with and against another facet of himself: Mr. Robot (Christian Slater), the spitting image of Elliot’s deceased father. Together and apart, Elliot and Robot have radically changed the world through their revolutionary acts, with a trail of bodies and billions of dollars left in their wake.
Additional cast includes Carly Chaikin as Elliot’s sister Darlene, Portia Doubleday as childhood friend Angela Moss, Martin Wallström as shark-suited Tyrell Wellick, Michael Cristofer as ruthless businessman Phillip Price, BD Wong as Minister Jiang aka Dark Army leader Whiterose, and Grace Gummer as federal agent Dominique DiPierro. Mr. Robot comes from the mind of Sam Esmail, who has directed every episode since season two.
