This is a podcast for PhD students who recognise that doing a PhD impacts every aspect of your day-to-day life, but it doesn't have to be what defines you as a person. I (Harriet) chat about everything from relationships to finances to mental health and more, as all of these are affected by your PhD. New episode every two weeks!

This one wasn't in my plans. To say nothing is fundamentally opposite to what I believe in. It's a bit rough around the edges but it's a conversation worth having.
Let's chat about it over on the instagram @morethanaphd
A few resources worth looking into. As mentioned in the episode, do your own validation:

In this episode, we chat all things living seasonally during the PhD. While we recognise that we can't necessarily follow this idea all the time, it is a refreshing view on approaching new projects and connecting yourself to nature.

This week on MoreThanAPhD we chat about how ingrained caffeine is in academic culture, and how it is a good idea to think critically when it comes to caffeine consumption.
Love me a juicy topic, let me know what you think on the instagram @morethanaphd

As the nights grow colder and the decorations begin appearing sooner each year, it's time to consider how to approach self care during the festive season. It is likely a time where you are able to take a longer break from your PhD, so let's chat through how to manage your wellbeing over the winter period.

New year, new you? In this episode, we walk through doing a reset: reflecting on the past year/season/unit of time and setting goals for the next one. Although most new year refreshes are done in January, this one is applicable whenever works best for you: now, at the start of a new school year, the start of the month, or even the beginning of the day. We touch on the importance of reflection and setting realistic goals for ourselves.
TRIGGER WARNING: One area I chat about is mental health and feeling low. If that's not something you are in the headspace to reflect on, skip the section from 16:00 to 20:30. Take care <3
