Welcome to Version 2.0 of my trailer for Microcast Musings! (with light updates from the original version.)

SCRIPT
Hello, I’m Jess Chua, and welcome to Microcast Musings.
This is my quiet audio journal. It’s made up of voice notes, with mundane rambles mixed in with mythic inspirations.
I’ve been running a dragon website, Dragonsinn.com, since 1999, but I’ve only recently been sharing my thoughts or poetic writings verbally, whether it’s through this microcast or my tiny YouTube channel.
So if you enjoy creative and personal reflections, join me for a moment as I share snippets of thought, and (hopefully) some moments of growth.

Here's one of my old gargoyle-themed, microfiction pieces, that I recently narrated.

Microcast Musings (about)
This episode riffs on the dreamy style of Wes Borland—Limp Bizkit’s enigmatic guitarist.
It’s an episode on music and memory, and a reflection on sound, presence, and the subtle ways we tune into what’s unsaid.

SUMMARY: Welcome to episode fifty: "A Change in Pace." 🎉 I think it’s a fitting title because this microcast started as a way for me to gently challenge myself, especially around speech anxiety.
Over time, it’s shifted into something more exploratory. Now it's less about getting it "right" and more about following curiosity through sound and rhythm.
Speaking about sound and rhythm, I thought I’d start this off by sharing some brief thoughts on how I write and speak—and how recent experiences have made me think about it in new ways.

I share some quick thoughts on doing yoga for about 20 years (as a follower, not a teacher/instructor), including how I started getting into it and "keeping time" less nowadays in order to feel more of its restorative and balancing effects.
BONUS: You can hear my dad's cat purring in the background towards the end of the episode!

It's been about a month since I deleted the Reddit app off my phone, specifically to make more time for reading and writing.
The first few days were a bit of a shock as I didn't realize just how much of a distraction it had been. I noticed I was feeling more emotionally intense with certain things once I'd stopped scrolling out of habit.
I'll still always have a soft spot for Reddit, as it was there for many during some very difficult times of my life, and I don't think it's all bad if it's used in moderation.

I share a quote from the article, "I figured out how to make the internet fun again," by Marianne Eloise.
Related to my thoughts on trying yet another newsletter platform for Dragonsinn, because my previous RSS feed service recently started adding wayyyyy too much clutter—and advertisements—in the email notifications.

This week, I decided to try and tackle a set of short seasonal dragon poems inspired by the "Autumn" dragon poem I wrote in my teenage years.
I narrate the poem and a first draft of a "Winter" dragon poem. I also share some thoughts on refining the seasonal dragon poem set(s).

Since today’s episode is #44, I thought I’d talk about the number four.
It’s a number that’s both ominous and comforting, depending on who you ask and cultural context.
