What do children really absorb from the love—or lack of it—they see at home?
In this episode, we explore the emotional atmosphere of the home and how it shapes a child’s worldview, self-esteem, and future relationships. Our guest, Opeyemi Kesena, reflects on the role of affection between parents and how both spoken and unspoken expressions of love leave a lasting imprint on children.
We also dive into the quieter struggles:
How can couples be more expressive—towards each other and their children—especially in the chaos of daily life? And what happens when love goes quiet, or when the home feels emotionally distant?
Whether you're parenting in a tough season or trying to build a healthier emotional legacy, this episode offers thoughtful insight, tender encouragement, and practical steps forward.

Screens are everywhere - from soothing toddlers with videos to using educational apps for preschoolers. While technology offers convenience, it also raises deep questions about childhood, attention, creativity, and connection. As digital content becomes a default part of parenting, many are wondering: what are we losing in the process?
Many young parents find themselves caught in a difficult place — wanting to raise mindful, present children, yet overwhelmed by the lure and pressure of screens. Is it even realistic to imagine a screen-free or screen-minimal childhood? How do we manage meltdowns, boredom, or even guilt when saying no to digital entertainment?
In this inspiring conversation, we sit down with Junnifa Uzodike, founder of one of Africa's leading Montessori school - Fruitful Orchard Montessori and co-author of The Montessori Baby and the Montessori Child. A mother of four and globally respected Montessori guide, Junnifa shares how she has raised children who are conscious and not glued to digital devices — and are flourishing. Through her grounded, compassionate approach, she offers practical guidance for parents who want to embrace digital minimalism and reconnect with the true joys of parenting.
Discipline is a crucial topic in raising children God’s way. As parents, guardians, and mentors, we are entrusted with the responsibility of shaping young hearts and minds. But how do we discipline in a way that is both firm and loving—one that corrects but does not crush?
We live in a world of extremes when it comes to discipline. On one hand, some parents rule with an iron fist, leading to fear and rebellion. On the other hand, some avoid discipline altogether, leading to disorder and entitlement. But God’s Word teaches a better way—one that blends grace and guidance, correction and love.
Join Adeboro Odunlami and Dawn Immanuel as they share biblical wisdom and practical tools for disciplining children in love, encouraging respect without fear, and maintaining unity in parenting.
Irrespective of your denominational background, you probably remember your parents being prayerful; praying over you at the slightest chance they get. Our parents seem to have been more intentional about covering us in prayer.
But hey, Millennial parent, how are we doing?
It would seem that this culture is slowly dying as we young parents are either minimizing the potency and importance of prayer or just not prioritizing it enough.
In this episode, we hear from Mummy Udeme Samuel, a mother and living legend whose prayer life can only inspire you. She shares stories of how her own parents modeled prayer to her and she she in turn did same for her children. She also shares why a praying culture is non-negotiable for everyone with a child around them.
It's an interesting and insightful conversation that'll bless you.
Child abuse is rampant in every country in the world. You would think that the reason for this is because parents are being excessively careless by leaving their children in the hands of strangers but statistics show us that 90% of abuse generally comes from family and people within our closest circles. Verbal, emotional, physical and even sexual abuse can have long-lasting consequences for children. As parents and caregivers, it's our duty to be sensitive both naturally and spiritually to the needs of our children. Children need protection.
In this conversation, our guest, Toni Sanni (Lady T) shares with us why children need protection, a common sense approach to accommodating guests at home, the need for sex education for our children, and how to overcome negative cultural expectations that deprive children of being protected. As believers, we must treat our children with as much care as our Heavenly Father treats us.
Grab a snack and listen! It's a long, but necessary conversation.
Bonus: Even better if you listen to it with your spouse.

No parent imagines that their child would be born with a special need. But children with special needs exist and they need as much love, faith and care as the next child.
As believers, how should we think about special needs? How should we approach these children? Where does the supernatural come in? And importantly, how do we teach them the Gospel?
In this conversation with Specialist Teacher and Assessor for Special Educational Needs, Ruth Kehinde, we learn how to approach caring for children with special needs. She shares a truckload of encouragement, faith and strength to every caregiver and offers sound practical advice on how to teach these children the gospel.

"Intentional Childlessness" has become a popular idea; where couples actively choose to remain childless. What perspective and considerations should a Christian have towards such a topic? Amidst issues on climate change, maternal health, disability and prevalent evil in the world, should every Christian still choose to have children? Does the word of God give us any insights into God's mind on the topic? It's a tough topic but it's expertly handled by our guests, Joshua & Opeyemi Kesena, seasoned Christian relationship and marriage counsellors.
They are also Christian parents to two lovely girls.
