Jay, The Vintage Impersonator 8:20:25 7.47 PM
Photo: Google Search
Usage: Fair Use

Jay the Vintage Impersonator! Have you heard of him? Have you seen him? He can really dance like James Brown as if he is really the Godfather of Soul himself and has been reincarnated in this young performer. He does James Brown’s dance moves just as good as James Brown did or better. He moves very fast. According to the video clips I have seen, Jay is in his 20s. He said that he decided to impersonate James Brown because of his mother. He grew up listening to oldies. I believe that’s why he’s so good at what he does. There is still a lot of great talent out there in the world, and I don’t understand why people aren’t trying to grab someone like Jay for a movie or something.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the artistry here—his dance moves, a thrilling flashback to a time when music was about rhythm and soul. He channels those iconic James Brown steps with such energy and precision, it’s almost magical! The way he glides, spins, and shimmies across the stage brings not only a smile but also a surge of joy, reminding us of the power of performance to transcend generations.

It's fascinating that Jay’s inspiration comes directly from his mother. This lineage of musical appreciation speaks volumes. Growing up listening to oldies likely has cultivated an understanding of the music that goes beyond mere mimicry. It’s about love and respect for the craft. That deep connection often breeds talented artists, and Jay’s tribute to James Brown proves just that.

Now, let’s talk about opportunity. In an age where entertainment constantly seeks fresh and engaging acts, it’s a mystery why someone hasn't yet scooped him up for a film or a major production. Imagine the energy he could bring to a project that celebrates the legacy of soul music! We are truly in a golden age of talent waiting to be discovered, and Jay is indeed one of those shining stars.

The world deserves to see more of Jay and to witness this wonderful blend of vintage inspiration and contemporary talent. I’m hoping that Hollywood—and perhaps a few producers with sharp eyes—start paying attention to this young man. After all, as we look back to celebrate the past, it’s equally important to usher in new talent who can carry that legacy forward. Jay, with his passion and undeniable skill, is poised to do just that. How exhilarating it is to witness such talent!

Lounge Show Legends
The Next Generation of Musical Talent 2:14:25 10.31 PM
I’ve got a tale to spin about the incredible talent bubbling up all around us! The naysayers are out there claiming that we’ll never see another Michael Jackson or another James Brown, but let me tell you, that’s just not the case! No way, no how!

You see, there’s a treasure trove of talent out there waiting to burst forth like the brilliant spark that ignites a Saturday night dance party! Sure, MJ and JB were legends in their own right, trailblazers who lit up the stage with their unparalleled charisma and electrifying moves. But let’s not kid ourselves; the world is brimming with fresh voices soaring high, sweet sounds filling the air, and garage bands mixing it up like it’s a potluck of sonic delights!

Now, they want to hit you with that "it’s too dark" narrative, and I get it. We’re living in a tricky time where the shadows seem to loom larger than life. But instead of letting that dim our spirits, let’s flip the script! Remember, it was hard to break through back in the day too! Artists had to claw their way to the top through some serious obstacles, just like today’s singer-songwriters, rappers, and musicians hustling to shine!

But let’s talk about the talent. It’s still there, alive and kicking! From the soulful singers tearing up the charts to the fearless rockers who remind us of the good old days; they’re out there grinding, creating, and pushing the boundaries of what music can be. The rhythm never stops, and neither does the talent!

Yes, the world can feel dark, but that just makes the light shine brighter when it breaks through! Don't let the gloom cast a shadow on the greatness that’s lurking in every open mic night, every jam session, and every underground gig. We may not have another Michael or James immediately visible in the spotlight, but trust me, the next musical revolution is just waiting to erupt!

So, let’s celebrate the artists who are coming up, the ones redefining what it means to make music today! The talent is there. It’s just waiting for its moment to explode! Keep your ears open and your spirits high because the beat goes on, and so does the talent! Rock on!

Subway A cappella-Select Blendz 11:17:24 7.59 PM
Music intro by: Gail Nobles
Story by: Gail Nobles

Today’s topic is the subway a cappella group Select Blendz.

Select Blendz is an a cappella group known for street performing in the subway system. They gained attention for their talent and unique style, often blending various musical genres and showcasing their vocal abilities in public spaces.

They sing songs like Soul Man by Sam & Dave, and So Much In Love - The Tymes, and This Magic Moment by the Drifters.

The subway a cappella group were breathing new life into those classic hits we adore. From the moment I heard them kick off with Soul Man, I could feel the energy. Their harmonies are like a delightful concoction of rhythm and soul, capturing the spirit of the original, while adding their unique flair. Each member plays their part, blending their voices into something truly special.

And don’t even get me started on So Much In Love. With those smooth sweet melodies, Select Blendz takes us back to those golden oldies.

When they break into This Magic Moment, you can practically feel the spark flying! The way they interweave those voices is pure magic.

So check out Select Blendz performances on YouTube.

Have you heard the Barry White tribute artist? Have you seen the Barry white tribute artist? He calls himself Master-T. Theophilus Marrow is his name. He has a smooth deep sounding bass just like Barry White. And he looks like he could be a twin brother to Barry White. Master-T has his looks, sound, and everything that you loved about Barry White. When he’s singing his songs, you can't tell his voice from Barry’s. You can check Master-T out on YouTube. Just look for the Theophilus Marrow and subscribe.

I'm hoping that Master T will be making his own songs in the future with his Barry White talent. I am hoping he'll become a Grammy Award winner with his bass voice and romantic image.

Jingle by: Gail Nobles
Music - Honeymoon Chord: Samplefocus.com
Vocals by: Gail Nobles
Story by: Gail Nobles

Hi! I’m Gail Nobles. Welcome to Lounge Show Legends. Todays topic: Vel Omarr. The Sam Cooke of Our Time.

Vel truly is the Sam Cooke of our time. Everyone that has heard him knows it. I don’t know anyone that is singing like Sam Cooke in soul music like Vel. Mr. Omarr can sing and sound just like Sam Cooke. He has his own songs like: “How Can I Make You Mine”, “Trouble Blues”, “Still My Love Grows”, & “If I should Get To Heaven” just to name a few.

Vel Omarr has natural singing talent. He’s someone I wouldn’t really call an impersonator. Vel has too much talent. When he sings, it’s really him singing. It’s really his voice. He just happened to sound like Sam Cooke. We need his voice & talent & style in this day and age because Vel Omarr is about what is real in music.

If you have been following Vel on his Youtube channel, you know what he has said. Soul Music is a spiritual thing, and therefore, Soul Music will never die. Vel has said that soul music ain’t dead, and he is proving it. He has a song: Soul Music ain’t dead.

If you’re following Vel on Facebook, last night there was a live interview on him and some of his great music and great covers of the legendary Sam Cooke. The interview was done by Studio Buzz - host “WB”.

Tribute Artists - 5:10:21, 3.08 PM
Story by: Gail Nobles

Hello everyone. Thank you for listening to lounge show legends. It is said that there won’t be another James Brown, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t anyone else out there like him. James Brown endorsed a man by the name of Tony Wilson. He’s known as the young James Brown.

There is another man whose real name is James Brown. He calls himself King James Brown. Both these guys are tribute artists and pays tribute to The Godfather of soul.

We also have the son of Jackie Wilson whose name is Bobby Brooks Wilson. He’s a lot like his father and is the living legend of his father.

There are so many imitators. I’ve only named out a few. There are some tribute artists that can look and sound so much like the original entertainers. People seem to enjoy them. I enjoy them.

When I first started the Lounge Show, it wasn’t just about tribute artists. It was about talented artists that have the old fashioned music and style. I consider them as legends too carrying on the old style of music with their talent. They were artists that really had a voice to sing.

God has given so many people a lot of talent. There is always somebody out there that is just as good as the best or better. They just haven’t been discovered or couldn’t make it like the ones before them. Great talent is still here, but we need people that will want and recognize great talent. We don’t see many people today like Ed Sullivan and Allen Freed. Those men enjoyed great talent and they recognized great talent. We don’t have Dick Clark’s American Bandstand anymore or Don Cornelius from Soul Train. Those were the days when we got to see all of our favorite singers on television. Today’s Music, Radio, and Television has changed. We’re living in a different era and time. But it’s so great to have those tribute artists to carry on the sound of the past that so many still love.

Abbas Alizada is staring at himself in the mirror. Finally, I look too to see what he see's. I see the look and expression of a Kung Fu legend named Bruce Lee, but Abbas knows that he himself is another man. I look again, and I imagine the reflection of a Kung Fu star accomplished on the movie screen. I imagine a powerful leap and a powerful kick from a man as THE WHITE TIGER.

White Tiger: White Tiger Kung Fu! The Claw!

All of you Kung Fu movie makers out there, if you can't see Abbas Alizada, you're blind. Yes, there's only one Bruce Lee, but he would want us to continue in Kung Fu. He would want us to make more Chinese arts movies, and maybe even create more Kung Fu styles. He sowed the seed. And now, we have Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Donnie Yen, Danny Chan, and why don't you give Abbas a try. To contact him, go to abbasalizada.com.

Right now you're hearing Elvis Presley looking back. But we can also enjoy a new Elvis today name Cody Ray Slaughter.

Cody said, (voice actor) "You know Elvis Presley. Everybody knows him. I'm from Arkansas, and kind of got the tone. I like 1956..... the early stuff. Elvis changed so much throughout the years kind of inventing himself. Something about those early years. They're real special."

Voice actor singing: I'm in Love. I'm all shook up.

To me, Cody Ray Slaughter's hairdo, voice, looks, and dance is the same as Elvis. He's very amazing. It is amazing seeing Cody on a different stage in a different time and place as Elvis. Mr. Slaughter's stage is like magic. It's like seeing him step out of a time machine when he steps on stage to bring back an Elvis Presley show. We can see a brand new Elvis in brand new ways with the same charisma and style. Maybe in the future, Cody Ray Slaughter can bring brand new songs using the style of Elvis Presley. Why not? He's got Elvis down pat. The only thing that's needed is great songwriters like Elvis had to write the hits. People still love Elvis. He won't ever be forgotten, and Cody is helping us remember him.

(Singing)

Mark Anthony as Prince!
If I didn't know any better, I would say he is Prince. And though he's not, I believe that Mr. Anthony has the best tribute show around. What makes his show sound so great is he's actually singing. What makes his show look so great .. .. he actually looks like Prince. Sometimes I have to stop and ask the question, Is it Prince? Sometimes it's really hard to tell.

With the singing and acting talent that Mr. Anthony has, in my opinion, I think he should start making his own songs and movies. People may like him as Prince. That's great! But I like him as Mark Anthony because he's singing, and his performance is real. If he can sing songs by Prince, then he can sing. Check him out today at markanthonyasprince.com. Vocals by: Gail Nobles
Keyboard and music arranged by: Gail Nobles
Theme by: Gail Nobles
Photo Credit: Tony Wilson (The Young James Brown)
Info from: https://youtu.be/okw9nbWXZYU

I call him Soul Brother Jr. Tony Wilson the Godson.

On April 4 in 1968, 130 cities throughout America had riots following the murder of Martin Luther King. James Brown was scheduled to perform on the next day in Boston on April 5, but fearing that rioting would happen, officials considered cancelling the concert. James Brown convinced the Mayor that he could control the crowd which he did.

Today, Tony Wilson (The Young James Brown) gives tribute performances remembering The Godfather of Soul", and the historic moment in musical history of James Brown in Boston.

Mr. Wilson has a song of his own remembering James Brown called "Fight the Power". He has a message telling the world to come together and that there is no need to fight. Tony Wilson tells us to fight the power to the end and fight the power till we win. He has the same charisma and same spirit in him that James Brown had. Tony Wilson is the young James Brown and frontman for the James Brown Band. To hear his single, "Fight the Power", go to https://youtu.be/okw9nbWXZYU

Tony Wilson, endorsed as the young James Brown by The Godfather of soul himself. I'm quite sure that James Brown would be proud of Mr. Wilson if he were here today.
