Leaving parts of my broken heart behind as I step forward in life & find the love in my friends who remind me that moving forward isn’t easy but it’s always worth it. Returning from my Vancouver trip has led me to reflect & revalue & allowed me to reset as I head into my 40th year. I feel my losses hard but I choose love every time! The story of grief & learning to live again 💖

I travelled to Vancouver to thank one of my best friends who I had never met before. Someone who shone a light my way when my heart was falling apart. A friend who helped me write Grannys book when I felt I couldn’t do it. A friend who stepped towards me when all I wanted to do was step back. This episode is about the power of friendship & why people like Lauren are so important in the world! ✨🫶🌙

This podcast is focused on the struggle we humans have when it comes to being ourselves. Often we feel pressured by society, by others & even by ourselves to be somebody else while if we just lean into our own light, our authentic selves is where we are happiest. I wrote this piece on a day my heart was really hurting & it’s my attempt to put words on how grief feels. The pandemic has been tough on us all but I think we have also gained great insight into what is really important to us. For me, I’ve realised that I don’t need much & even when kept within 5km of my home, I can find peace, happiness & tranquility right on my doorstep. This episode is a moment in time whereby I realised being close to home has a lot of benefits that I might not have noticed before Covid19 arrived. I recorded this episode after going through a number of weeks without sleep as gran has been very sick. 107 year old Granny Nancy is one very special human being and Lou counts herself doubly blessed to not only know this lady but to also live with her. Granny Nancy was born on the 16th of October 1913 & is the oldest lady in Ireland living in her own home. In this episode, Lou brings you inside their magical space that they both share & in a lovely relaxed manner, within seconds, you will feel like you too are sitting on the couch beside them drinking tea. A big thanks to Luan Parle for her beautiful music that sits both sides of this episode.
