•Arizona Dranes Born somewhere between 1889 to 1905, no specific record of her birthdate, however she was born in Greenville, Texas to Melton & Millie Dranes. She was born blind and as a young girl she attended the Institute for Deaf, Dumb and Blind Colored Youths of the State of Texas. It was in school where Blind children were typically taught trades as that was thought to be the only means of making a living for disabled people. •Arizona began learning classical singing and piano and as attitudes began to change about the blind, early reformers raised money for the school by providing public exhibitions of blind students, demonstration they were competent and intellectual. Arizona helped set her course by the curriculum which included an emphasis on music. •Arizona’s recording journey peaked in 1928 to which she recorded “Just Look” on the Okeh record label. It seems Arizona was the first woman to record gospel music. Vocally her classical training was very apparent with the “rolling ‘r’s”. In parts of the song you can hear some of her classical cadence in her musical phrasing on the piano. •Here we and a truly unsung Gospel Music Pioneer in the woman Arizona Dranes.

•Hefziba Livingstone Originally from Venezuela currently residing in the United States where she not calls home. She has always had a passion for all forms of arts and music was a big part of my life growing up. She always loved singing and dancing , she has memories which she will treasure of her grandfather and the sound of his trumpet. •She recalls recording herself by singing into her Sony waterproof radio with a passion of becoming a fashion designer. •Johnnie Foster a gifted songwriter, producer, arranger, and tremendous vocal talent. Johnnie was born and raised in Durham, N.C., to a musical family, began his career at the age of 10. “I was always pushed out in front of the older kids to sing. There were 15 yr. olds doing backgrounds for me,” says Johnnie. He performed in various talent competitions and was recognized in Durham for his ability to entertain a crowd. During High School, he became a member of John P. Kee’s Revelational Experience Choir when he developed a skill for writing lyrics. •He later moved to Los Angeles, CA. to further his career. While in Los Angeles, he became a member of the group IZ and recorded and released his first single, Da Bomb, on an independent label. This was also when he did his first studio “sessions for hire,” getting a chance to work with and learn from Marvin Gaye’s producer, Harvey Fuguay. Since leaving L.A., Johnnie has had several songs published, released, and distributed by companies such as CBS, CEI Gospel and Scotty Brothers Records as a lyricist and arranger. He has also performed backgrounds for Dorothy Norwood and shared the stage with such artists as Luther Barnes, Cynthia Jones, Detrick Haddon, Vickie Winans, John P. Kee, Lucinda Moore, Lee Williams, Sensational Nightingales, as well as a host of others.

•Gregory Pearson & Angelique “Lena” Starks •Gregory G. Pearson is a multi-talented musician, producer, arranger and songwriter from Detroit, Michigan. He is a principal owner of The Inner Court Music Group, one of the top Indie Artist recording studios and music production companies in the Detroit area. His production company has recorded hundreds of projects in the gospel market. He is 12-year-old co-owner of MAG Media and Entertainment Venue. •Gregory has served as a musician or minister of music for many noted ministries and organizations in Detroit and throughout the country. For 25 years, he served as one of the national organists for the Churches of God in Christ. Also, for more than 20 years, he served as organist and music administrator for Detroit mega church Greater Grace Temple, pastored by Bishop Charles H. Ellis, III. He also served as musician for the NAACP National Convention. •Angelique “Lena” Starks, born and raised in Detroit, is the daughter of the late Pastor C. James & Dorothy Starks. She started cultivating her gift of singing at a very young age at her father’s church, Prayer Tabernacle COGIC. Lena states, “I’ve been singing ever since childhood. I was the only 12-year-old allowed to sing (Soprano) in the Adult choir.” With much practice and dedication, God blessed her to grow in her gifting. •Lena currently sings background for Anita Baker. She is also the praise and worship leader at “Citadel of Praise” under the leadership of Pastor Spencer T. Ellis in Detroit.
