Welcome to Leona’s wine & Tea podcast. I am a holder of WSET Diploma and a wine educator, journalist and translator from Taiwan but have been living in London since 2005. I grew up in the tea country, Taiwan, a small island in East Asia and I am currently pursuing my tea sommelier qualification and will continue with my master of wine study in 2022. 關於葡萄酒斜槓人Leona: 大學唸英文系,研究所唸觀光行銷。在台灣擔任法國食品協會專案經理時期接觸葡萄酒,一發不可收拾。目前定居英國倫敦;2016年取得WSET四級,目前為葡萄酒大師候選人。主業是倫敦葡萄酒培訓公司(WineEd)教育總監,副業是葡萄酒翻譯與寫作。譯作包括《橘酒時代》、《美國葡萄酒》、《自然酒》、《世界葡萄酒地圖第七版》、《世界咖啡地圖》等書。Leona同時也是台灣酒訊雜誌專欄作家與英國IWSC競賽葡萄酒評審。

In this episode, it’s a great pleasure to have Chau-Jean Lin, Founder of Marulin tea company in the UK to be our guest.  Chau-Jean grew up in the US and started her Taiwanese tea business in the UK in 2014 prior to that she was a scientist working in France and the Netherlands. Grew up in a tea family, Chau-Jeau first encountered teabags when she was in the university!

In episode 1, we will talk about her pathway into the world of tea, the challenges she experienced, the observation of the UK market. and the effort she has made in promoting Taiwanese Oolong tea. We will also explore the similarities in wine and tea education and the difficulty of how to properly describe certain flavours in wine and tea,
