Why Ambitious Christian Moms Struggle to Be Present (And What to Do About It)

Ever feel like you're physically in the room but mentally somewhere else entirely? Like you're going through the motions of your day while your mind races ahead to tomorrow's to-do list or replays yesterday's failures? Same.

In this episode of the LeadHerShip Podcast, I uncover the #1 barrier that keeps ambitious Christian women from being fully present...and it's probably not what you think!

I'm sharing the biblical truth that changed everything for me, plus practical strategies to help you break free from the stress cycle and start showing up fully—mind, body, and spirit—to the people and priorities God has entrusted to you.

This isn't about hustling harder OR slowing down! It's about learning to be faithfully present in a way that honors both your God-given vision and your today. Whether you're building a business, homeschooling your kids, or just trying to keep everyone fed and loved, you need to hear this.

In this episode, you'll discover:

  • The real definition of faithful presence – It's not just being physically there; it's showing up mentally, emotionally, and spiritually engaged in the moment God has given you
  • Why stress is the #1 presence killer – And how most of your stress isn't even about what's happening now, but what you're afraid might happen later
  • The dangerous trap of vision without trust – How your God-given vision can become a source of pressure instead of inspiration when you forget who's actually in control
  • The identity issue behind your stress – Why tying your worth to your outcomes keeps you in constant striving mode (and what to do about it)
  • How God works through means – The biblical theology that will completely shift how you view your daily habits, systems, and routines
  • The Proverbs 31 woman's secret to peace – She wasn't panicking her way to productivity; she worked her systems faithfully with her eyes fixed on the Lord
  • Practical ways to stay present – Simple, do-able habits
  • Reflection questions – Powerful prompts to help you identify where pressure is stealing your presence in your home, business, and spiritual life

Practical Application:

  • How to balance having a strong vision for your future while staying faithfully present in your today
  • Why your habits and systems aren't unspiritual—they're actually deeply spiritual when rooted in obedience
  • How to know when you're truly present (hint: you'll actually feel your emotions instead of numbing them)

Resources Mentioned:

  • Time Blocker Template – My proven system for managing your days with intention instead of reaction
  • Complete Chore System – The exact framework I use to run a peaceful home with 6 kids (includes age-appropriate chore ideas)
  • Age-Appropriate Chore Ideas PDF – Quick reference guide for what kids can handle at different ages

    Ep. 69: Productivity Confessions

Today I am getting real with y'all about those seasons when productivity just isn't happening the way we want it to. I shared my own experience this past week of needing to reset after traveling + 3 unexpected snow days for the kids and how it affected my routines, energy, and mindset.

What I want you to remember:

    - There's a big difference between being a productive person and trying to be productive every single moment

    - We need to understand the difference between needed rest and "the bread of idleness"

    - When one habit slips (usually sleep or nutrition for me), it can create a domino effect

    - It's so important to recognize when we need a reset and not beat ourselves up about it

Here are the strategies I've learned for resetting:

    1. Pay attention to early warning signs:

    - Physical symptoms (fatigue, digestive issues)

    - Mental fog

    - Emotional sensitivity

    - Increased mom guilt

    2. Focus on the foundation first:

    - Start with sleep (nothing works well without this!)

    - Get back to basics with nutrition

    - Include gentle movement like walking

    - Make time for prayer and Bible reading

    3. Get perspective from people who know you well

    4. Trust God's timing and remember - this is His work, not just yours

Something that's really helped me when I need a complete reset, especially with nutrition, is doing a structured 3-day Reset that helps clear the mental fog and restore my energy. See what that's all about here!

If you wanna know more about that, I'd love to share details with you! Just pick a platform and shoot me a message!

Biblical truth I'm holding onto: "My yoke is easy and my burden is light." When everything feels too heavy, it's usually because I'm striving in my own strength instead of abiding in His. 🤍

Remember mama - productivity isn't about perfection, it's about faithfulness. You're doing better than you feel like you are. ♥️

In this episode, we dive into the biblical perspective on productivity and energy management, sharing the first four of eight essential habits that help maintain the energy needed to live a fruitful life. Ep. 63: My Son's Perspective on Having a Network Marketing Momma

You ever wonder what your kids will think about your network marketing business when they grow up? I always do 😂

One of the things I LOVE about network marketing is the opportunity to earn incredible experiences and trips!! We just got back from dreamy Maui, Hawaii! We were there for 10 days, and although I had only earned this trip for myself and guest, I actually brought SEVEN guests with me this time-my husband, and almost all of our kids, including my oldest son Noah and his wife. 💕💕

He watched me build my business from the beginning when he was 11 years old, and right after he moved out at 18 years old, I FINALLY hit the top rank of the company.

So he saw me work my business while juggling homeschooling, nursing babies, changing diapers, cooking all the meals, managing all the finances, and all the work of managing a household while my husband worked a full time job.

Noah saw me endure some hard things and keep going anyway. He describes how extended family members mocked me openly. Looking back on the whole thing, I never would've known how that impacted him but MAN!!!! It makes me so glad that I didn't let it stop me or use that as a reason to quit...because I almost did. What effect would that have had on my son?!

So I thought you might enjoy hearing the perspective of a son who grew up with a mother that was building a successful network marketing business and was trying to do a lot of things well. I asked him things like:

🤔 Did you think I was weird?

🤔 Did it bother you that I transitioned from homeschooling mom to work from home mom?

Some of his answers really surprised me! So interesting how differently kids see things than moms do 😃 We also just chatted about what makes people successful in life. I loved the whole thing.

Hopefully you will too. 🤍 And if you listen, let me know your thoughts!

    Ep. 62: Are you DETERMINED...really?

Today we are talking about a non-negotiable quality for someone who has BIG goals...DETERMINATION.

The definition of "determined" is decided, settled, resolved.

When we goals that are outside of our current skillset, there's a whole lot of figuring out of things that has to happen to get from where we are now to where we want to go!

And we can't wait around for someone to hand it to us, we have to take ownership and go get it!!

Along the way, there will be setbacks. The setbacks cause frustration, and how we respond to our frustration is what will determine how far we go.

For the successful people, frustration actually drives CHANGE. For the unsuccessful, it causes them to quit. So many people allow discouragement to rob them of their dreams, because they don't see adversity as part of the process that is shaping them into the type of person who can handle the amount of success we desire!!

Most of the time our discouragement is not rooted in reality, its rooted in our unrealistic expectation of what reality should be. And most of the time that unrealistic expectation is rooted in comparison!

Comparison is the thief of joy, and comparison keeps people stuck!! The truth is, no matter how successful a person is, they all hit a wall at some point!! Every single person who has ever set a goal and worked hard to achieve it has gotten to a point where they feel frustrated because what they are doing doesn't seem to be working!

How you respond to your frustration will determine your trajectory, and this episode will walk you through how to overcome your frustration, lack of results, make change happen, develop yourself and your skills, AND how to become CONFIDENT!

This episode is perfect timing right before our company convention! 😍 Let me know what you think!

Ep. 61: Scaling Your Biz to 6 or 7 Figures with Melanie Mitro

Today is a candid conversation with Melanie Mitro, who has built TWO 7 figure businesses, one in network marketing and one with her company that she started—Chic Influencer! The first thing we talk about today is the fact that she has over 35 LEVEL ONES who are 6 figure earners!! 35!!! That is mind blowing!! And that speaks the quality and scalability of her systems!! When we talk about scaling, we mean being able to bring on AS MANY new customers and business builders as possible, and helping them find success with solid systems vs helping so many people one-on-one. Here are some of the other questions I asked her that you will get to hear the answer to today:✨How did you create systems that scale?✨How do you keep up with SO many people and feel confident that you are serving them well?✨How do you keep people from quitting due to their own mindset obstacles?✨What are the systems that are needed to support that many business builders well and develop them into strong leaders?✨What do you think it takes to create momentum?Melanie knows a thing or two about success, and she definitely understands what it takes to be successful in network marketing. I have learned SO much from working with Melanie, and you are going to love learning from her today too! Connect with Melanie on IG: @melaniemitro

5 Qualities of Six Figure Earners
I’ve set some big goals for my business, and I hope you have too! 🤩 With BIG goals top of mind, I’ve been thinking a lot about what it’s going to take to reach them. I LOVE to observe and analyze people who have hit the 6 figure (and beyond) mark, because they are always such interesting people!! They aren’t like most people! And I don’t mean how they look, their personality, their demographic, or some other “it factor.” As a matter of fact, you probably wouldn’t even be able to point most of them out in a crowd! They appear very normal and regular, BUT they are anything but regular. What makes them so interesting is how differently they think, and how different their habits are than most people. And what has always excited me (and still does!!), is knowing how all of their thinking patterns AND their habits are learned! That means anyone can make the same choices and get similar results! It starts with awareness of how 6 figure earners think and what habits they have, and next is applying the same thinking and habits in your own life. Let’s talk about it today!!
