On this Weeks Ep, we were privileged to host a titan in the Cyber Security space, a champion in inclusivity in the Technology and founder and Managing Director, Infosphere Limited to discuss her journey into the Cyber Security space, the landscape in general given the emergence of new technology and most importantly how we as consumers and enterprises can collectively think about how we can stay safe online.
After a brief hiatus, we begin the first episode of our 3rd season with one Mr Robert Muita who is widely considered as one of the most successful Digital Freelancers in Kenya and a top-notch Content & Digital Marketing professional to unpack the Digital Freelancing landscape in 2024, His storied journey from Cyber Café attendant to the pinnacle of the gig economy and also address some of the challenges he faced early in his journey and how they shaped his elite mindset on consultancy in the gig economy environment.
We also take the time to talk about the importance of a continuous skilling approach, his work as a facilitator and mentor, and finally some industry relevant projections that young people can start aligning their skilling needs around to become competitive.

As we look back at the different activities that were carried out during 16 Days of Activism against GBV, we feel we had to share a very informative and knowledgeable conversation we had with one of our more prominent alumni from our Youth Employability programs in Kisumu County Ms Victoria Aduet around her journey to her job in the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and also through her experience, the importance of investing in Women and Girls to prevent the rising cases of GBV in the country

Over the past few years ACWICT in partnership with UK DAP have been in the frontlines implementing the Digital services for Agriculture program that has a main goal of increasing access and utilisation of relevant digital agricultural content for sustainable agriculture and food security in Laikipia county & the larger part of Kenya.
During this period, we have been able to reach over 50,000 farmers with our Digital skilling program and a further 500,000 through awareness creation initiatives that have leveraged on Digital and Social media resources County Government sponsored events and skilling programs that were championed by extension officers and champion farmers.
In what is the beginning of our documentation of the impact of the DSA Program we catchup with the former Dir/chief Officer of the Agricultural ministry and champion farmer in Laikipia County, Mr. James Mungere to shine a light on just how the program impacted the agricultural community in Laikipia, there view on the integration of Information Technology in Agriculture and what they believe the future holds for the farmers in Laikipia willing to embrace the power of tech and opportunities it brings to various value chains
In this EP we talk to two of ACWICT’s senior instructors who also happen to be experienced freelancers with over a combined decade's worth of experience working online about the growth of the Digital Freelancing space, the role that is playing in scaling up the gig economy, and how women and youth can be able to thrive in an increasingly demanding and competitive space, we also take some time to share our respective journeys into freelancing, lessons we learned early in our path and what we believe is the future of Digital Freelancing.
Finally, we also touch on what the Government can do to support Digital Freelancers which includes Digital Freelancing friendly tax rates, Health insurance, setting up retirement fund opportunities and supporting local BPOs to scale up in size and in turn hire more women and youth desperately looking for an opportunity.

In this Ep we speak to a beneficiary of ACWICT’s Digital skilling programs Ms. Cecilia Ouko In her journey story into software engineering and project management began as a Digital Marketing consultant who came across a web function known as SEO or “Search engine optimization”, and as a result of that, fueled her curiosity in website development and more specifically how she could grow her business to be able to also incorporate that aspect to provide a more holistic business solution.
We also explore how some of the early challenges inspired her to go into solutions 4 development space and what goals she has for her eSolution are moving forward
In this Ep, we speak to Ms. Lucy Buluma who works as a mentorship lead at ACWICT about her storied journey into the world of technology and what inspired her to mentor the next generation of women and girls looking to pursue a career in tech-enabled careers
We also address our theme of the Episode *encouraging inclusivity in the Digital Space” and the importance of The National Government, learning institutions, and organizations within the ICT4 Development space to come together to make use of Digital and social media to scale up awareness on opportunities in the tech and STEM career paths.
