LawPage On Air It was a huge decision for Richard Matthews KC to leave an established chambers setup after decades of the traditional approach to life at the Bar. He now practices at Mayfair Place Chambers, powered by LawPage of which he is co-founder, and his sense of freedom, liberation and efficiency have been life-changing. Jim Meyer too has stepped away from life in a major London law firm to set-up Egan Meyer Solicitors and finally follow his techie heart, becoming co-founder and CTO of LawPage. This podcast is all about how they did it, why and what lawyers, barristers and tech start-ups can learn from their experience across all aspects of legal tech. En route they are ably assisted by Martin Deeson and Christina Grzasko, who stop them from hogging the mic and forgetting there is a point to all of this. hallo@lawpage.co.uk | www.lawpage.co.uk

Fear of Change: why it costs Chambers and Law Firms too much money
Firms and chambers consistently report that transformation is a top priority with a focus on technology and strategy. The problem is that the people working within firms and chambers don’t like change. They have got used to the existing systems and whilst there may be plenty of things to moan about, better the devil you know creeps into everyone’s thinking. It acts as a mantra to ward off the fear of change. So, firms and chambers get stuck their ways, progressing and securing their business at a snail’s pace. And maybe they will get away with it right up until the point when the proverbial hits the fan and it becomes obvious that the mantra wasn’t so protective after all. Join Richard Matthews KC and Jim Meyer as they talk about ways to overcome these challenges.

Episode 2: Starting LawPage
Why create a new legal software start-up now? And why create software for Solicitors and Barristers when existing systems hadn't? We discuss practice frustrations, disconnects and the inability to share documents safely in virtual conferences because of products being sold in silos to each side of the profession. It's about real life problems and being your own customer.
