Firms and chambers consistently report that transformation is a top priority with a focus on technology and strategy. The problem is that the people working within firms and chambers don’t like change. They have got used to the existing systems and whilst there may be plenty of things to moan about, better the devil you know creeps into everyone’s thinking. It acts as a mantra to ward off the fear of change.
So, firms and chambers get stuck their ways, progressing and securing their business at a snail’s pace. And maybe they will get away with it right up until the point when the proverbial hits the fan and it becomes obvious that the mantra wasn’t so protective after all.
