16. Symone Mason - Who Am I Off the Track?
Symone Mason is a D1 Sprinter for Louisiana State University, LSU. At only 5 feet 2 inches, she is a 5-time all-American running the 4x400 relay & 200 meters. She has qualified for the NCAA championships on numerous occasions of which has achieved silver medals alongside her 4x4 team. Symone transferred her sophomore year from the University of Miami, her hometown where she achieved MVP in 2018 and won gold in the ACC Championships. Symone is a role model for young black women across the country in showing them that you can build your empire starting from just a young dream.

15. Ranyah Bullock - The Reality of HBCU Royalty
Ranyah Bullock currently serves as Miss Sophomore at HBCU Deleware State University. Although she just recently graduated Renaissance High School in 2022 she has successfully kickstarted her journalism career by majoring in Mass Communications with a GPA of 3.6 with a Dean's List Distinction. Speaking of her Black Excellence, she is a published author at Rocket Mortgage company where she interns as a financial literacy writer. Not only does she have an immense background in service, leadership, and journalism she is also a cosmetologist who specializes in hair at her own business called Ranyah Beauty. Although she may be young Ms. Ranayah is a role model for Black Female Excellence

14. Dacarion Cheatham - Life Through my Lens
Dacarion Cheatem is an up-and-coming photographer and videographer with his own brand called PovDc. He attends one of the top schools in the city of Detroit called Cass Technical HS where his brand took off. His work quickly grew in demand and he now shoots Detroit artists, sports games, local events and does creative private shoots as well. His unique and creative shooting styles make his work impossible to replicate and truly display the action going on in a shot. Dacarion is not just a photographer, but he should be renowned as an artist and storyteller.

13. Jalen Thompson - Be Where Your Feet Are
Jalen Thompson is a D1 Defensive Lineman for the Michigan State University Spartans. Jalen is a four-star prospect, the No. 1 defensive end prospect in the state of Michigan for the Class of 2023 and ranked as one of the best overall players in the country. Rated the No. 13 overall player in the Midwest and ranked among the best defensive ends in the nation by Rivals. Three-year varsity letter winner at Detroit Cass Tech High School helped lead Cass Tech to a 9-4 record, the Detroit Public School League (PSL) title, and a berth in the Michigan Division 1 state semifinals his senior season in 2022 while being one of the few to attend the U.S Army Bowl in 2022. All in all, Jalen Thompson has put in work on and off the field to be a phenomenal player and represent the city of Detroit.

Be the founder and CEO of his own booking app Sookk and pursue his Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. Kaden embodies what it means to be a Detroit hustler and give back to his community by any means.

Demetrious Yancy is the CEO and Founder of a luxury streetwear brand named Trenches. He launched his brand as a senior in high school attending the illustrious Cass Tech in Detroit, MI. His brand has since followed him to Michigan State University in 2023. He states his motivation for his brand was to show people that they could overcome any challenges that life may throw at them. Thus Meech is not just a CEO or Brand Owner but he is role model of what it looks like to make it out the trenches and on to bigger things.

Mary and Bri Brier are the owners of Kona Ice which is a ice cream and shaved ice truck that helps parties all around the country. From company picnics, school games, festivals or any event with a crowd looking to have fun! They not only serve up sweets but also serve their community by being foster homes for dogs in need and have raised over 65 million dollars for local communities and organizations. Mary Brier began her service in healthcare working as a Hospital liaison, but after 20 or so years in that industry, she made a switch to become the owner of this infamous truck and her college-aged daughter came right along to help with the day-to-day business of it. As we see these women balance their families, education, and business with ease.

Mrs. Harrington is an avid adventurer who casually joins triathlons for some weekend fun and enjoys hiking, mountain climbing, boating, and most of all teaching. Mrs. Harrington is a wife, a cancer survivor, a lifelong educator, and a role model.

Mr. Hafner has done global volunteering in Honduras to give medical and dental care to impoverished populations. In addition, he has done shadowing work in oncology, pathology, and a variety of specialties. Soon-to-be Doctor Adam Hafner has made strides in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math field with the hope to study viruses that impact our society

Mr. Hester is approaching his 4th year in Detroit Public Community School District currently teaching 10th-grade economics and civics. With his very first year of teaching completely virtual he has met the challenge of redefining education in the city of Detroit. He has focused on bridging the gap between knowledge and wisdom in young students by incorporating project-based learning into the curriculum. Kicking off the school year by evaluating the question is college truly worth it? He has done significant work at the local Detroit History Society educating himself on the rich history of the city. Most notably, he was born, raised, and completely educated in Detroit. Attending a DPS school himself. He not only educates but lives out the meaning of giving back to the city which gave to him. Marcus D. Hester is a DPS product, a Detroiter at heart, an educator, a husband, and a role model.
