This episode features a mix recorded live at Renate in Berlin during the Vivus Showcase. Juri Lichtenwald – active under both his real and stage names – discovered his passion for electronic music. At the age of 15 he experienced his musical horizons expanded to include techno and house, and at 19, he acquired his first mixing desk and some vinyl records. After several years of intensive involvement with club culture and music technology, Juri put his artistic activities on hold for about a decade – but four years ago, he returned with renewed energy and his own music production. Today, his focus is on driving tech house and rominimal, which he combines with a keen sense of dynamics and depth. He has performed his sets in renowned clubs in Basel, including Saxophon, Club 59, and Auffall. He gained international experience through gigs at Belgrade's KPTM club. Musically, Juri was initially influenced by acts such as Sun Project, Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, and DJ Rush. Today, he is more influenced by the minimalist school of Romanian artists such as Raresh, Aarapu, and many more. Sorin Simon, born and raised in Transylvania, Romania, also started with classical piano before diving into the world of electronic music. His sound moves between hypnotic and trippy atmospheres and deeply groovy rhythms, blending minimal, microminimal and microhouse influences. In 2017 he founded Unknown Tales, a London-based label dedicated to forward-thinking electronic music. Tobias Laun, of Italian and German origin, discovered his love for music in early childhood when he began playing the keyboard, a passion that has stayed with him ever since. In 2016 he co-founded Vivus Records with Daniel Broesecke, and together they have built a respected platform in the underground scene. Chris Llopis has been making music since the late '90s, with releases on labels like Fabric, We Are, and Eminor Records. While he has explored both minimal and techno styles, his main interest now lies in tech-house. Chris's passion for electronic music ignited after a trip to Spain at the age of 13, leading him to purchase his first set of Technics SL1210 turntables. He began playing in various youth clubs and venues around his hometown in Sweden. By the age of 20, he moved to Copenhagen, where he started performing at techno raves and clubs. His first vinyl release came in '98 on the German label Tatsu, making a mark on the minimal trance scene and leading to worldwide performances and numerous releases. In 2000, he featured on Howie B's compilation on Fabric Records. In 2007, Chris started the collaboration Virtualboy with Ecco, releasing two well-received EPs on We Are Records, which climbed high on the minimal charts. They also remixed a Philip Wolgast track on the Brazilian label iNminimax Records. This summer, they played live at venues like Bar25 in Berlin and the massive electronic festival Fusion in Germany. Coming from a background in art and performance, with over 12 years of ballet study, Erica Menei is a DJ who loves to mix sounds and experiment behind the booth. Born and based in Rome, she began her journey in 2011 by collaborating with Wonder Wet Records, a label and booking agency run by industry professionals Sergio Picciaredda and Attilio Tucci. This experience inspired her to further her skills as a professional producer by studying the basics of electronic music composition. As the Co-Owner and A&R of Talkischeap Records, founded in 2013, Erica released her first EP, "The Ghosts Are Gone," in the same year.
