Georgie is in her late 20s, having worked for eight years for three different companies. She recognises how difficult it is to know what jobs are out there and what that they actually entail.
So in this podcast, Georgie speaks with other young professionals to hear what they are doing and how they got to where they are. She hears career stories and experiences from those who have always known what they wanted to do, and those who don't, those in vocational careers, those taking on side ventures and those who are taking a new challenge.

Today’s guest is Jessica Lee, who left university having no idea what she wanted to do and moved around into different careers - until a brilliant manager shared that Jess would be great in buying. Now today, Jess has progressed to be Buyer for huge brands and is about to make a career change. Listen to find out more about how she got to where she is and describes exactly what she does as a buyer.
As one of my best friends and a series finale, where I learnt even more about Jess, I hope you enjoy!

Today’s guest is Hannie Caldwell, who is a Healthcare Events Logistics Project Manager - having previously been in Events Sales. In this episode we talk about being 'people people', public speaking & confidence in work, changing careers including taking a considerable pay cut, and making the most of every opportunity - something which Hannie exemplifies.
Having known Hannie for over a decade, I learnt new things recording this podcast, and I really hope you learn a lot from her too.

Today’s guest is Alex Myatt, Fruit Packhouse Manager for Myatt's of Mockbeggar. This episode is fairly different to the rest. In this you forget about 9-to-5, 5 days a week and move to 'as long as it takes' 6 days a week! It's a big shift and it's a lovely conversation to help understand what actually goes into farming (it's not always outside!).
We talk about a newly launched Rhubarb Fizz which will be available here shortly! Home of the finest quality fruit | JMyatt & Co

Today’s guest is Alex Pavlovskis, Senior Consultant in the Sustainable Finance team at Ernst & Young. This is such a great episode and we discuss so much. I could talk to Alex for hours – not just because COP26 has just been taking place, but also because she is so knowledgeable and straight talking. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I did recording it.
Side note: we had a couple of tech issues, but it's still an amazing listen!

In this episode, I speak with Verity Pemberton, currently Creative Director at Rose Inc and Founder of her own Independent Magazine, Moon Magazine.
Verity is one of the most interesting people I've ever met, having won awards in Art School, styled high profile people, became a fashion designed, moved into Art Direction at Mario Testino and later Burberry, before moving to Creative Direction at Rose Inc. Alongside all of this, Verity founded her own magazine: Moon Magazine (Moon Magazine). There are some great stories and some brilliant advice, so enjoy!

In this episode, I speak with Iona Bain, Author, Financial Journalist, Blogger, Public Speaker and so much more. The conversation is full of surprises, including Iona’s career change in her early twenties, which I hope you’ll enjoy.
I came across Iona when my aunt sent me her second book, Own It! which is a guide to investing for millennials, including helping to create a better future through investment. It's great and I highly recommend it. In fact you can get it here: Own It! | The Young Money Blog

Today, in the penultimate episode of my first series, my guest is Emma Sheehy, an artist who loves to paint and create sculptures and add fun experiences to art.
I've known Emma since we were eleven years old and it's been so interesting to watch her career in the art world - a world in which I have little experience (or knowledge or skill). Alongside her own art, Emma works in a Bronze Foundry, which she describes as "it's basically painting metal - but with fire"!
In this episode, we touch on so much from degree choices to prop & set production, jewellery making, sculptures, paintings, patina, exhibitions, physical and mental health and the support we get from others - and how important that it.

Today my guest is Charlotte Dunn, a secondary school teacher who has recently been promoted to Head of Department. I've known Charlotte for a few years now, having lived with her for two of them, and I love hearing Charlotte talk about her work and I think you will too - the passion is clear!
In this episode, we touch on so much from degree choices to working with kids who need extra help in school, through Teach First and now to running a department, pastoral care, the impact of Coronavirus on education, and how the curriculum can be diversified.

Today we are welcoming Maria Jackson, a guest who is a little bit different to my other guests in this series. She is one of the only people I know who knew what they wanted to do from a young age - and not only has actually done it, has succeeded to a high level doing it. Maria is Brand Manager of Snack Bars at a huge FMCG company, having started through an internship and then Commercial Graduate Scheme, which she finished early to land permanent roles in the company.
In this episode, we cover field sales development, to graduate schemes, to passion to introversion, mentoring and coaching. It's a great conversation and I could have talked to Maria for many more hours (lucky for her, we didn't!)

Today we are welcoming Alex Pennington, previously a lawyer and now a co-founder of Finish & Feast, a fine dining at home company. Alex has such an interesting story, taking a risk in leaving his role just as Covid-19 took hold. His next steps were a Food Instagram and now a whole new company, which is just going through its first capital raise. This is such an interesting story and I think you’ll enjoy it.
In this episode, we cover becoming a lawyer, working abroad, jumping into the unknown and co-founding a company with your friend, and so much more.

Today we are welcoming Katie Din, previously an Insights Analyst, now a Business Intelligence Developer, an old colleague of mine and now, a friend. We met working in the airline industry, and in the time that I’ve remained at my company, Katie has moved to a few different ones, progressing, learning new skills and developing all the time. I love hearing what Katie has to say and the way she makes decisions and makes changes, and can’t wait for you to hear it.
In this episode, we cover going to university, graduate recruitment, graduate schemes, further career changes, self-doubt, stakeholder management, and much more.

Today we are welcoming Stuart Tarn, Service Integration Lead, Copywriter and a colleague of mine. We both work in the airline industry, which has had a tough time during the pandemic, and both had periods of time on furlough.
During this time, Stuart started a side project in Copywriting, creating his own company called Stuart Writes Copy. www.stuartwritescopy.com
In this episode we hear his story of how he got started and I can't wait for you to hear it.
