Are you tired of leaving your doctor’s appointments confused about the next steps? Are you sick of scouring the internet for medical advice? Do you wish your doctor had more time to explain things to you? Are you ready to know exactly what you can do for your health? In this podcast, you will find medical recommendations broken down into step by step instructions freeing you from confusion, googling, and lack of progress in your health. My mission is to equip you to manage your chronic conditions, navigate acute health problems, tackle lifestyle changes, and raise healthy children. If you are ready to take steps towards optimum health — you are in the right place. Hey, I’m Kayla, a medical student, but also a patient. I’ve witnessed again and again people’s health suffer simply because medical instructions were lost in translation from the doctor to the patient. I’ve been the confused patient and I’ve been the confusing provider. Seeing both sides of healthcare, I understand doctors are doing their best to explain and patients are doing their best to understand, but medical jargon, the emotional setting of appointments, and time pressure are all working against us. I realized there had to be a better way. This podcast allows me to walk you through medical advice without all the constraints. As the patient, you can choose to listen whenever you are in a good headspace to learn, and you can always come back if you need a refresher. And, I am not time pressured here, so I have made sure every episode is full of high quality information you can understand with step by step practical advice. If you are ready to make progress towards optimum health by learning how to do deal with your medical problems new and old - from your hypertension to the common cold - this podcast is for you. Print out the accompanying worksheet at healthhomework.co, grab a pen, and pop in your earbuds. It’s time to work.

EP 26 // The 3 Types Of Exercise You Should Be Doing Every Week
Hello,   Today we talk about the gold standard of exercise- w hat in an ideal world you would be doing every week. Now I want you to listen and compare it to what you are doing right now. Maybe you are already doing everything, but one type and you are going to work on incorporating that in. Or, maybe, you are not exercising at all right now and this episode will feel quite overwhelming. If that is you, I want you to just pick one thing you can start doing and then see this “ideal of exercise” as something you can work towards over years, not months.    I made this episode though because I think it is really important to know where we are headed, and what the end goal is, so that we can take the necessary steps towards it. For example, maybe you don’t even realize it is recommended to do three distinct types of exercise!    Best of luck,   Kayla  Links Mentioned:   Stretching option - Yoga with Adriene - https://www.youtube.com/user/yogawithadriene    Strength option - Has Fit - https://www.youtube.com/c/Hasfit/featured     Print your worksheet here - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YhEcSAHvqNg5lihlob58h724sFoxyGJfx8GBHsYeOfk/edit?usp=sharing    __________   Join the Facebook Group - https://www.facebook.com/share/g/tUX8ubqpprNAXdMK/   Sign up for the email list - email healthhw.kb@gmail.com and let me know you want to subscribe   Leave a 5 star written review - if you love this show and you haven’t yet, please take the time to leave a 5 star written review.
