Let's discuss the myth and the function behind shotguns. I've believed a few of these myths myself, and an ever-growing education in firearms and ballistics has caused me to evolve in my thinking. It's also recently changed my views regarding AR-15's but we'll get to that in a later episode.
In short: shotguns are fantastic for certain situations when coupled with a lot of training and knowledge. But they are not the magical beginners tool that many make them out to be.
