Ground to Crown Yoga - Slow Down to Power-Up Your Yoga + Spiritual Life - is a program run by Neil Spencer. Your life, and your spiritual life are the same thing. The #1 Meditation technique I learned when I first startedI learned this technique years ago, when I attended the @sedonayogafestival in 2014.It’s called “Thumbs in the Armpits.”It doesn’t have a cool name.What it does is pretty cool though.When you put the thumbs in the armpit, you press on the axillary arteryIn human anatomy, the axillary artery, which in science terms below ⬇️:is a large blood vessel that conveys oxygenated blood to the lateral aspect of the thorax, the axilla (armpit) and the upper limb. Its origin is at the lateral margin of the first rib, before which it is called the subclavian artery.When you press on this area, you depress the flow of oxygenated blood throughout the upper body.Within 1-3 minutes, you will feel a very noticeable relaxation take hold.Your heart ❤️ beat will slow to where you feel the “boom, boom, boom” of blood pumping.You breathing will slow to where it will feel like it takes a little more effort to inhale deeply .Your mind will begin to slow down, and become calm.Think of your mind as an ocean, where your thoughts on its surface are the waves This technique will allow you to duck beneath the surface waves to the stillness beneath.The deeper you go, the calmer it gets.After a few minutes, you can remove the thumbs, and do your breathing exercise.For a meditation focus, I share a technique I call, “Pressing Every Button on the Elevator ”It’s a chakra (nerve plexus) meditation, designed to feel the energy and tension of breathing to each chakra - Ground to Crown - and exhaling softly.Relaxing and getting softer through each stage of the nervous system. At the Sahasrara (Crown) chakra, the energy should feel at it's shortest wave, and highest pitch.Progressively extending the wave, and lowering the pitch on the way down. Rainbow Fast Unicorn is a Yoga mixtape series dedicated to my four year old niece, Zoey.
