We were super pumped to get Ross Monckton an Atlanta area MTB legend and the founder of Shred It You're On! a new mtb jersey company that provides a clean seamless way to gopro without looking like a total Joey! It was fun learning about Ross's history in not just mountain biking but all aspects of actions sports. He charges on a bike and was really cool to work along side him at the Quick Six! Tune in to learn all about this rad dude and rad company! Of course we also had to catch up with Brett of MTB Atlanta as well on Between 2 Tires!

We are excited to look back on what was an epic weekend of MTB. The Quick 6 Fest and mini enduro race delivered as always. People always say it is the biggest MTB party in the woods and they are right. From the race itself, vendor booths, live music, food trucks, shenanigans stage, jump jam, and on and on the event was epic! We also had to hear about Alex's second training ride at Coldwater and what is going on with him. Hope your ears enjoy this one Gnar Gnation!

If you were like me you probably originally thought his name was Tony, from his hysterical content on social media spoofing Rowdy Flow and all the hoodlums getting gnarly off jumps. But Tony Flow Rowdy is actually Zach Mays who works at Jarrod's Place and one of the longest standing employees there. So dedicated he bought a cabin and some land right near the park. From shuttle driving, to trail building, to artwork Zach has touched many things at the park and always around for some stoke. We discuss his personal life, life at the park, his healthy lifestyle, unique/infamous van, and so much more. Come with us as you get some behind the scenes coverage of this rad dude and amazing place!

I was told by many to get this local GA mtb legend on the podcast and it finally happened. Josh has been very active in our mountain bike community the last 8 years from being a trail builder and maintainer, to head coach for GCA, to being on the board of SORBA and MTB Atlanta, and recently won volunteer of the year award. Not only that but this guy gets after it riding daily, always looking for the gnar, and constantly giving back. We talk about all the things in this episode and hope you enjoy!

I met John while coaching for the Trail Rangers program this past season at Big Creek. He started as a roadie but found his gnarvana during Covid after his kids coerced him into the mountain biking world, and now he is hooked. Got his coaching certifications and he is off to the races. John also enjoys making a yearly pilgrimage to the Vermont loamers which we discussed as well. It is not without accidents though as we also chat about his hugey out at Blankets this past year. But hey he did get a sweet new Santa Cruz frame out of it! So strap in gnar gnation for this episode!

I first heard Jeff on Vital MTB's podcast titled The Financial State of MTB which really blew my mind. This dude can analyze so many different angles of the bike industry being an avid mountain biker/pro racer combined with a background of finance, tech, and start ups. He digs beneath the surface to truly understand how things are the way they are and learn from the past to understand the future. In today's world most opinions are surface level and it is refreshing to talk to someone that views the bike industry from so many angles.
We discuss learning about the bike industry from earnings calls of Fox Factory, trends and predictions of the bike economy, and his personal take on certain brands/preferences. This may be one of the most fascinating podcast interviews I have done yet and I hope you think so too!
P.S. He is coming out with a competitive product to Strava!!!!

Super stoked to get Mike on the pod! We ran into each other at Jarrod's Place on the shuttle years ago and stayed in touch. At the time he was working for Santa Cruz, but now working for Cane Creek. We catch up on his story, his obsession for Santa Cruz (favorite rigs), and his new gig at Cane Creek. Of course we had to have some van life talk mixed in as well since he has been living it for a long time. The true Mansmann is now a resident of Pisgah so go hit the brotha up for some rad trail riding!

We welcome Maggie and Brad Smith of Catalyst Sports an amazing adaptive outdoor sports organization to the podcast! Maggie and Brad discuss how they got into mountain biking, falling in love with the sport and each other (They got married at Blankets Creek!) We unpack adaptive mountain biking from a gear, trail, and experience perspective. I learned sooo much from them and think we can all learn a ton on how to make this great sport and hobby more accessible to all to enjoy it.

Recorded this after riding bike park tour day 3 for some and day 2 for me at Kanuga. We chat about the differences between the two bike parks (Rock Creek and Kanuga) and the experiences as a whole. We also discuss Frameworks and some other fun tid bits throughout. It is just me and MTB Lawyer on this one but it is packed full of goodies. Take ya a gander will ya?!
So this is a little confusing because the Chief Gnar Gnome got to the party late, so the rest of the Gnar Gnomies did Kanuga day 1 ,and then I joined them for day 2 at Rock Creek. This was recorded ad hoc after the ride at the Shredstead in Brevard in the garage fixing our broken bikes and having beverages post Rock Creek. It is all over the place but cool to get a behind the scenes look at a post ride roundtable with the Gnomies. Hope you get all the feels from this and can smell the brake fluid.
P.S. Part two will be dropping next week after the day 2/3 ride at Kanuga and then Stumphouse.

We catch up since our podcast a long time ago when he was at Free Flite to where he is today and in the future. We talk maturing, 90's mtb's, future bikes, projects and much, much more! Towards the end we talk about my latest adventures and specifically Bootleg Canyon. Take ya a gander and listen now will ya?!

David Chaney from Martha's Outpost chatted with the Gnar Gnomies about their latest annual Cardinal Trail Award. They gave it to our backyard trails Big Creek! We unpack all that goes behind this award and the factors that make a great community MTB trail system. There are some other random nuggets thrown in the podcast as well as always.
