Breath. Meditate. Listen. Be aware. Question. This is all you need to truly wake up and change your life. Jason is no one special. If he can do it, so can you.
What can we truly take from a yoga practice to help us ‘wake up’ if most yoga is simply taught as exercise or from a guru/cult perspective? It all comes back to your breath, focus and intent. All of the tools are there if we don’t get lost in the smoke and mirrors.
What part of the false reality has you in its grip? Family, love, career, success... they are all simply emotions that are attached to Maya. Once we see through that then it’s easier to let go of the things that are holding you back from self realization.
What’s it like to lose a piece of your self only to still be in the same place? It’s the same but different. As the self begins to fall away ‘you’ still continue to exist within Maya.
What is fear? Where does it come from and how can we use it to wake up from the illusion of Maya? In this chapter Jason and Sandra talk about what we can do to empower ourself by confronting our fears.
No one likes to talk about the ‘D’ word. In this segment we do just that, at least in regards to the False Self. When Maya goes so do the ideas of self that were built on the belief in the outside world.
That’s what you’re left with in the end. In this chapter Jason and Sandra discuss layers of the ego and what it really takes to start burning them down. Fire is key but nothing is more powerful than focused intent.
In this chapter Jason and Sandra discuss what’s necessary to find the real root of your intent. Why do we do the things we do? What’s the seed of the fire and how to embrace that for real change. Maybe you can find it in yoga, maybe you can’t but all the tools you need are there.
In this segment we discuss what it’s like to take the focus of breath into your daily life and the power of looking death in the face while running towards your fears.
What’s the difference between a feeling and an emotion? In this chapter Jason discusses just that. As well as why breath is so important and how it’s really the first step in the awakening process.
After Maya presented itself to Jason his visual field changed and also the way he sees and communicates with the outside world. The illusion becomes illuminated.
Sandra and Jason use another visual to clarify the concepts of Brahman and Atman. They discuss looking for the ‘crack in the vase’ and then Maya shows itself to Jason for the very first time.
Jason and Sandra try to create a visual to help better explain the concepts of Brahman, Atman and Maya. No self is True Self, who thought it would be found in the center of an orange.
In this second take of the first chapter Jason gives a brief intro to the book, by the same name, and why he’s decided to make a podcast instead of an audiobook. He also discusses why he’s here and some helpful things to know as we get started.
