In this episode of Genuine Girl, I chat about a recent career change I've made and the larger lessons that have come with it - namely, the tendency to have a need for control and the importance of letting go for positive changes to transpire.
From trying to control others' perceptions through people pleasing to trying to control the direction of my career path, I dive into the different types of control that were actually more harmful than helpful on this journey. I also share what actually helped me find peace in whatever outcome transpired. Hopefully it inspires you if there is any kind of change you are thinking about making or if you feel stuck on your own journey. You are not alone!

In this episode, I’m talking about something I’ve recently come to call The Contradiction Crisis: the tension between being high-functioning and highly feeling. I open up about what it’s been like to appear “put together” while managing deeper challenges, and how hard it can be to hold both ambition and emotion at the same time.
This is the most vulnerable I’ve ever gotten on the podcast, but I hope it reminds you that you’re not alone if you’re feeling mentally drained and still showing up every day. You don’t have to choose between being successful and being human.
What a hectic few months it has been! If you can't tell by the title, I have gone through quite the life change lately - transitioning into homeownership and learning a lot about myself along the way. In this episode, I'll share the impetus for my decision to buy a house and some of the reflections I've had since doing so (both the tactical and philosphical ones.)
Ultimately, I hope this episode can help you feel more empowered to act from your intuition rather than from external validation - whether in a decision as tangible as choosing where to live or in the day-to-day decisions that make up your life.

If your automatic response to “how are you?” is also some variation of “tired,” and if you feel the constant need to change that, validate that, or just feel like it's wrong in some way... then this episode is for you.
In this episode, I’m diving into why exhaustion is so much deeper than just being busy. It’s not just about what we do; it’s about how much we think about everything we do. I’m breaking down why overthinkers, high achievers, and people who care a lot about how they show up in the world are constantly running on empty, even when it can easily look like nothing is wrong.
But most importantly, I want to put out a little PSA that you do not need to justify being tired. You don’t owe anyone an explanation for your exhaustion, and you don’t need to prove why you’re feeling this way--take my stories & experiences as example.
So if you’ve ever felt like rest is harder than just pushing through, or if you’ve found yourself trying to explain why you’re tired instead of just being tired, have a listen.

Silent strength: a quiet confidence that comes from within and that doesn't rely on external validation to make decisions or fuel your worth. It serves as a far more durable foundation than living in external validation ever will; yet so many of us struggle to build this skill when we live in such a loud world that pushes us to prove ourselves.
In this episode, I am getting vulnerable about not only why silent strength is a key element of my identity, but also why it has been so difficult for me to cultivate. I share tips and tricks that have helped my find quiet confidence as I navigate different areas of my life in hopes of helping you find that same inner resilience in your own challenges.

Valentine’s Day is here, and today I'm breaking down the pressures that come with this time of year. There's the obvious pressure of being with someone, but there's another pressure for us all to practice lots of self-love—and if you aren't either in love with someone else or in love with yourself, you're doing it all wrong. Personally, I am in love with spiraling, so you'll get to hear a good mix of reflections and spirals in this one.
In this bonus episode, we’re talking about:
💘 The two types of Valentine’s Day pressure: love vs. self-love
💘 Why romanticizing life is exhausting sometimes
💘 My personal history of avoiding this holiday
💘 The social media self-love trap & why it can actually make us feel worse
💘 And a genuine discussion: are we all just faking it??
Listen now & check out my blog for more lowkey ways to make the most of this time of year.

In this episode, I sit down with my mom, Karen — who is simultaneously the most caring and hardest working person I know, and THE shining example of a Genuine Girl! In this episode, we dive into her journey: from her small-town roots to her corporate girlboss era, from building a thriving real estate career to the new TikTok fame she has found in her retired life.
Most importantly, we explore the important life lessons she has learned about balancing hard work and hustle with caring for others and staying true to yourself... but don't worry, there are many chaotic discussions sprinkled in (i.e., who cares about following your passions if you can't pay your bills? - Karen)
If you can't tell, I am very inspired by my mom not only because she's my mom, but because I respect her a lot as a person. I think you will find wisdom in what she has to say, too. Don't forget to follow her social media journey!

Welcome to a new episode of... GENUINE GIRL (yes, the name has officially changed.) If you've been around long enough, you know that when I started my brand in 2019, Genuine Girl was the OG name - and it has always held a special place in my heart. After much debate and a long time of wanting to bring back the name, I decided to just go for it, and I'm glad I did.
This episode dives into the history of my brand & the namesake "Genuine Girl"; why I made the change back; and most importantly, what you can expect moving forward. From continuing to shift the brand toward self-development and mental health, to bringing in new elements of the brand that have not been seen before, I'm really excited to continue sharing this journey with you and am honored you are here with me! :')

This week's episode is something I've never done before. Not only did I record the pod while on a solo trip, outside on a beach, but I decided to talk all about the power of solo trips - a topic I've surprisingly never dug into!
I personally live for a good solo adventure - whether that means simply getting out of the house to try something new or going on an entire vacation alone - but I've realized that not everyone feels the same way, largely because they've never tried to travel alone or just don't know the benefits of spending quality time alone in a physically different environment.
In this episode, I'll share a bit about my "why" behind solo travel, what I've learned from my past solo travel experiences (i.e., what NOT to do,) and most importantly, how solo trips have given me the time and space to truly tap into the power of "silent strength": an intuitive, self-reflective concept I've been exploring greatly recently and want to share with you!
Finally, I'll share all my best tips and tricks for you to start your own solo travel journey - from planning your trip to cultivating your mindset. Hopefully you can leave feeling empowered to spend some more quality time for yourself in a different place!

If you feel like something is "wrong" with you or something doesn't feel quite right, you're not alone - but how do you take the step from stressing about it to actually doing something about it? In this episode, I'm sharing my tips to take charge of your health, from reframing the mindset you use around your symptoms (i.e., NOT saying something is "wrong" with you) to finding the right doctors, treatment plans, and more. I definitely haven't figured it all out, but hopefully this episode helps you continue to reframe your health and take the right steps toward getting the answers you deserve.

In this episode, I’ll explore my intentions for 2025—focusing on intuition, self-worth, and setting meaningful goals—and offer thoughts on how to stay accountable while embracing the unknown. Loneliness has become an epidemic, and I have felt it for many years. Yet, in the feelings of loneliness can also come a sense of independence and empowerment that I have been lucky to find and hope to pass along to others. In this episode, I tackle some of the heavy-hitting topics around how loneliness can manifest differently in different people, how it ultimately impacts us all, AND, most importantly, some tactical strategies to turn the overwhelm into strength.
Regardless of where you're at in life, I hope this episode can help you feel less alone and find strength in who you are independent of others.

Welcome back to the Self-Care Toolbox series! So far, we have discussed self-care as a habit largely formed outside the confines of whatever takes up our day-to-day life - whether that be school, work, or relationships with others. But the truth is, the environments that we spend most of our time in are sometimes the most effective places in which we can practice self-care. If you find yourself occasionally feeling stressed, burnt out, unfocused, or just not your best in your daily life, then this episode is for you. Hopefully it will give us all a chance to re-center and remember that at the end of the day, our health is more important than anything.

In this episode, I cover the importance of creating your own "master list" of self-care that sounds interesting to you; determining what roadblocks to self-care currently exist in your life; and deciding what sacrifices you are able and willing to make right now, thus helping you choose the "right" self-care for you.

I'm so excited to start a new series & bring more structure to the podcast! For the next few weeks, we'll be exploring self-care - but not in the ways you think. The self-care "toolbox" approach aims to help you build a solid foundation of self-care habits, by first VALIDATING the struggles inherent in practicing self-care.
This episode dives into the inherent struggle of finding energy & motivation to take care of yourself -- a huge roadblock that prevents many of us from getting started. I chat through why this can be a hindrance especially given societal pressures, and then share some tangible tips that have helped me find the energy to practice authentic self-care practices.
