Profiler is a Nu-Metal band reawakening from the creative mind of vocalist and guitarist Mike Evans. Together with bassist Joe Johnson and drummer Brad Ratcliffe, the band draws inspiration from pioneers who have instigated change across various genres, arts, and theories. This weight of legacy is something Profiler embraces, finding support with SharpTone Records, their home since 2020.
Originally conceived as a solo project in Bristol, UK, Profiler evolved as Mike stepped from the studio to the stage, enlisting bassist/vocalist Joe Johnson and drummer Oscar Hocking. In early 2023, Oscar made way for Brad Ratcliffe, solidifying the lineup that would craft the debut album, "A Digital Nowhere," released in 2024.
Profiler's music, a fusion of nu-metal, grunge, and alt-rock, creates an abrasive, distorted soundscape that pays homage to the heydays of these genres. Their sound resonates with anyone nostalgic for the contagious nineties Seattle grunge movement or the dominance of nu-metal in the 2000s, and the trailblazing bands that emerged during this era.
The highly anticipated debut album, "A Digital Nowhere," will be released on February 16th by SharpTone Records.
Geek Network traveled to "The Land of the Rising Sun" to talk with international multi-talented Emi Meyer who has been making waves with her Japanese cover of "For Whom the Bell Tolls" by metal legends "Metallica."
