Predators (2010)
This week on the Everything Actioncast, the hunt is on as Zach and Chris discuss 2010's Predators as Predator: Badlands is now out in theaters. Produced by Robert Rodriguez and directed by Nimrod Antal, Predators finds a group of killers and soldiers dropped onto an intergalactic game preserve, where they realize they are the prey for a trio of intergalactic hunters.  Zach and Chris discuss Adrien Brody as an action star and clearly doing a Christian Bale-style voice, Laurence Fishburne's unhinged appearance, the classic Predator vs. the new Predators, the insane cast, including Walton Goggins and a pre-famous Mahershala Ali, the sequel comic, and more. Saw 3D (2010)
This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris celebrate Halloween with the final (at the time) Jigsaw game, Saw 3D, which came out 15 years ago this week. Wrapping up the original Saw series, Saw 3D, aka Saw: The Final Chapter, finds Detective Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) trying to kill Jill Tuck (Betsy Russell) to clear up any loose ends so he can escape before he's arrested as the new Jigsaw Killer.  He takes time to set up one final game, this time involving Bobby Dagen (Sean Patrick Flanery), a self-help author who has lied about being a victim of the Jigsaw Killer and is now put through the traps for real.  Zach and Chris discuss why Hoffman keeps making games when he wants to escape, the best traps in the movie, how all the side actors feel distinctly Canadian, John's (Tobin Bell) backward baseball cap disguise, the big reveal of who the ultra-secret Jigsaw apprentice is, and more. You can watch Saw 3D on Hulu/Disney+.  Next week, we're on the hunt and watching 2010's Predators to get ready for Predator: Badlands in theaters. Motel Hell (1980)
This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris check into Motel Hell to discuss the 1980 cult horror comedy for its 45th anniversary. Rory Calhoun stars as Vincent Smith, a genial-seeming farmer and hotel proprietor famous in his area for his various meat products. What no one knows is that Vincent and his sister Ida (Nancy Parsons) are kidnapping and butchering people as the secret ingredient in their meats. After attacking a couple on a motorcycle, Vincent decides to take in Terry (Nina Axelrod) and nurse her back to health, much to Ida's annoyance. Gradually, Terry falls for the laid-back country lifestyle and Vincent's seemingly honest, homespun personality. Zach and Chris discuss Vincent's love of traps and how the hotel should have incorporated them, the process of turning humans into smoked meats, chainsaw duels, Hickory Farms gift boxes, a young John Ratzenberger, and more. You can watch Motel Hell on AMC+ and Mometu (?). Next week, we close out spooky season with the final chapter of the main Saw series, Saw 3D, which turns 15. Turbo Kid (2015)

Mortal Kombat (1995)
This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris battle for Earthrealm and discuss 1995's Mortal Kombat, which just turned 30. One of the best video game adaptations ever made, Mortal Kombat finds Liu Kang (Robin Shou), Johnny Cage (Linden Ashby), and Sonya Blade (Bridgette Wilson) in the Mortal Kombat tournament hosted by the sorcerer Shang Tsung (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa).  If the warriors from Earth lose, the planet will be conquered by the forces of Outworld, under the rule of the emperor Shao Khan.  The Earthrealm warriors have Raiden (Christopher Lambert) and Princess Kitana (Talisa Soto) on their side, but they'll have to face the deadly likes of Scorpion (Chris Casamassa), Sub-Zero (François Petit), and Goro (Kevin Michael Richardson) to win.  Zach and Chris discuss the movie's incredible theme song "Techno Syndrome", what the exact rules of the tournament are, the awkward Kitana/Liu Kang "fight", why Raiden isn't having Earth warriors training to prepare for the next tournament after losing 9 in a row, and more. You can watch Mortal Kombat on HBO Max.  Next week, we're heading into the apocalypse with Turbo Kid as the recent cult favorite celebrates its 10th anniversary. Real Genius (1985)
This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris enroll at Pacific Tech and talk about 1985's Real Genius for its 40th anniversary. Val Kilmer stars as Chris Knight, a senior who takes physics prodigy Mitch Taylor (Gabriel Jarret) under his wing as the pair work as part of a team developing a powerful laser.  The team is unaware that their professor, Jerry Hathaway (William Atherton), is secretly working for the CIA and plans to turn over the laser, if it gets completed in time, to be used as an orbital weapons system.  Zach and Chris discuss the extent of the damage being done to the Pacific Tech campus, the lack of a unique soundtrack song, how the pranks are based on actual events, why the CIA would outsource a top-secret weapons project to a college science professor, and more. You can watch Real Genius on Philo or rent it from Amazon, Fandango at Home, and Apple TV.  Next week, we're getting ready for the return of Hutch Mansell in Nobody 2 by revisiting the first movie from 2021. Everything Action Commentary: The Man with the Iron Fists (2012)
For the latest Everything Action Commentary, Zach and Chris are joined by special guest Addam to watch the 2012 martial arts movie The Man with the Iron Fists.  Directed, written by, and starring RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan, RZA is The Blacksmith aka Thaddeus Henry Smith.  Working in "Jungle Village" making fantastical weapons for whoever pays, he's trying to raise enough money to free his love Lady Silk (Jamie Chung) from having to work as a prostitute for Madam Blossom (Lucy Liu), and he eventually gets drawn into a battle between warring factions of the Lion Clan.  While watching the film, the guys discuss how long it takes for the titular Iron Fists to appear, Russell Crowe's unhinged performance as Jack Knife, if the entire movie was just a ploy to shoot endless footage of sexy Asian women, the constant introduction of new characters, and more. You can rent or buy The Man with the Iron Fists on platforms like Amazon and AppleTV and sync it up with our commentary track to watch along. We want to hear your comments and feedback. I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)
This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris head back to Southport and discuss the 1997 slasher movie I Know What You Did Last Summer as the legacy sequel hits theaters. When four friends (Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ryan Phillippe) hit someone with their car after a night of partying on July 4th, they decide to dump the body in the ocean and never discuss it again.  One year later, the quartet starts getting threatening letters, and bodies start piling up as someone is aware of their actions and looking for revenge.  Zach and Chris discuss how Ryan Phillippe is a psychopath from the start, how the killer is more interested in pranks than killing for a large portion of the movie, the bizarre topography of Southport, how the iconic "What are you waiting for?!?!" scene was directed by a kid who won a contest, and more. You can watch I Know What You Did Last Summer on MGM+, Philo, and Fubo.  Next week, we jump back 20 years to talk about 2005's version of Fantastic Four, as Marvel's First Family makes their debut in the MCU proper with Fantastic Four: First Steps.
