On May 11th, 2021, a man named Babis Anagnostopoulo called the police from his home in the small city of Glyka Nera, Greece. He told them a violent gang had just invaded his home, robbed him and terrorized his family, including his infant daughter.
When investigators reached Babis’ home, they found his wife Caroline Crouch unresponsive and that escalated the crime from home invasion to murder.

In our inaugural episode, we cover the infamous story that has enthralled and bewitched true crime fans worldwide for the last twenty years. It’s the story of Michael & Kathleen Peterson, better known as The Staircase.
On a warm summer’s night, Michael Peterson found his wife Kathleen, unconscious and bleeding profusely, at the bottom of a staircase in their sprawling North Carolina mansion. He frantically dialed 911 but when police arrived, the crime scene presented endless questions, a growing number of which Michael Peterson couldn’t answer.
The Peterson’s story devolved into a tangled web of lies. Was it a murder or an accident? Did Michael murder his wife? There was no shortage of motives: life insurance, sex, war, politics, debt and a decades-long international mystery…
