This show is a manifestation of the belief that creativity is a part of human nature and that more often than not, people that consider themselves creative in entirely different disciplines from one another will have so much in common. Being a designer and artist for many years myself and having had a good many conversations with musicians, battle rappers, painters.. etc. I decided during the lockdown that I'd record some of these conversations with creative people and put them online.

** WARNING: We don't only talk about the creative thing I know the guest for in these episodes, we tend to just talk to each other as people and see where the conversation goes. Some of the topics we cover can be adult and/or explicit so please keep that in mind and don't listen if you are underage or highly sensitive.

DAM PODCAST #20 — RX Southside

RX Southside is a South London based battle rapper, podcaster and artist. Due to his unique style and by battling on UK leagues like No Loose Chat & Premier Battles as well as US leagues like iBattleTV & No Entourage, he's built a brand for himself that is already above many in the same 'class' as him. As well as being a battler, he releases interviews, podcasts, conversations, battles and more on the IBC NETWORK channel.

In this episode we spoke about battle rap, humans being inherently creative, the importance of being yourself, artificial intelligence and how lazy people are going to be if we keep relying on it for stuff rather than learning and much more!

DAM PODCAST #19 — Illmac

Today's guest is the legendary Portland rapper Illmac (FKA. Illmaculate). Illmac has been at the top of battle rap since before he was of even of legal drinking age, winning Scribble Jam in 04 at age 17 and the World Rap Championships (with 2on2 partner The Saurus) in 2006 and 2007.

He has since (along with the team) created highly entertaining and viral rap cartoons under his company "Rap Off" with videos like "Ketchup VS. Mustard" and "Cat VS. Dog" and much more stuff coming out soon!

As well as all the battle rap and video stuff, he's also a very talented artist and his albums "Sprng", "Smmr" and "Atmn" are some of my favourite albums of all time. As for the final instalment of that... WNTR IS COMING! 🥶

DAM PODCAST #13 — Rivers
Rivers is a battle rapper from London and one of the best in the world at it. He was previously the champion at Premier Battles and is one of the most popular among the fans especially over the past few years. In this conversation we barely talk about anything to do with battle rap, but out of his most recent battles I recommend checking out Rivers vs Frost (Don't Flop), vs Gemin1 (Premier Battles) & his international battle vs Holmzie Da God (Premier Battles) which is probably my favourite performance of his.

DAM PODCAST #8 — XQZ
Chicago Steve... I mean XQZ is a digital marketer, battle rapper and former champ of Midwest battle league No Coast Raps. He didn’t lose his title, but rather gave it up after holding it for a ridiculous amount of time. If you've watched any legendary King of the Dot battles over the years, chances are you've seen him before. Can I get a Uuuunooooo?!

Nán is a Mexican rapper & producer from Oakland California. He recently took part in King of the Dot's first ever season of battle rap and made it to the playoffs with some impressive performances including a first round body against the winner of KOTD's Grand Prix tournament, but really what's best about Nán is how much this man slides all over every beat I've ever heard him rap on.
