Hierarchy of the Catching Fundamentals
What should a catcher learn first, and what are the fundamentals? Many times catchers, coaches, and catchers just don’t know where to start, but to me, there is a hierarchy to learning the fundamentals in order for each to build upon each other. It’s like building a house. You have to have a solid foundation before you can continue to build a strong structure. There are 4 basic catching fundamentals you need to work on everyday. They are as follows: 1) Stances 2) Receiving and Framing 3) Blocking 4) Throwing Check out the video for more details on why these are important and their order to build upon. If you want to learn more and become solid at each of these, check out http://www.quickstarttocatching.com for a complete program on these fundamentals!

What Makes A Good Catcher?
Today we answer the age old question of what makes a good catcher? I commonly get asked by parents, coaches, and catchers: “What makes up a good catcher?” Honestly, it’s not what most people think it is. The old idea of a good catcher is just putting the biggest kid behind the plate. However, that doesn’t always work. I have four (4) things that I think make up a good catcher, and in this video, I go through all of them in detail. The four (4) things that make up a catcher are as follows: 1) Heart 2) Leadership 3) The Fundamentals 4) Knowledge of the Game These things are so important to the make-up of a catcher. Also, if you want to learn the fundamentals that make a solid catcher, head to http://www.quickstarttocatching.com and check out the video program created to go into depth of the fundamentals to help take your game to the next level! http://www.crashcoursecatching.com http://www.facebook.com/crashcoursecatching http://www.instagram.com.crashcoursecatching
