Today we answer the age old question of what makes a good catcher?
I commonly get asked by parents, coaches, and catchers: “What makes up a good catcher?” Honestly, it’s not what most people think it is. The old idea of a good catcher is just putting the biggest kid behind the plate. However, that doesn’t always work.
I have four (4) things that I think make up a good catcher, and in this video, I go through all of them in detail. The four (4) things that make up a catcher are as follows:
1) Heart
2) Leadership
3) The Fundamentals
4) Knowledge of the Game
These things are so important to the make-up of a catcher. Also, if you want to learn the fundamentals that make a solid catcher, head to http://www.quickstarttocatching.com and check out the video program created to go into depth of the fundamentals to help take your game to the next level!
