cowgirl ella on ambitious women

Welcome to Cowgirl Monologues, the podcast where we navigate the stars and stories of women!

In this episode we're joined by Ella Wright, a leadership trainer, Aries Rising, Cancer Sun, Scorpio Moon, and one of my absolutely most favorite human beings on the planet.

Join us as we talk about the multifaceted nature of ambition. How do you define it? What does it mean to create a balanced life as an ambitious woman?

We tell embarrassing stories about being student council girlies in high school and how Taylor Swift is the ultimate example of an ambitious woman. We even delve into Taylor's astrology chart, comparing it to our own charts, exploring the unique intersections of Neptune and Uranus in Capricorn and what these celestial alignments signify for the millennial girl boss era. Don't worry if you're not an astrology expert—we break it all down.

Finally, we run through Ella's birth chart and chat about her life purpose of being a leader and we find solidarity in our shared Scorpio Moon and Chiron in Virgo placements — two placements that bring a bit of a heavy energetic blueprint to life.

Thanks for tuning into this episode of the Cowgirl Monologues Podcast — talk again soon!

Ep. 23 — Cowgirl Monologues

Howdy cowgirls, cowboys, & cowtheys — it’s been a minute! The last time we spoke was at the beginning of October. If it seems like i disappeared off the face of the planet, it’s because I did…I was drowning in life and depression and I had zero capacity to show up for the podcast but I’m back and I’m alive… at least I think I’m alive… idk honestly.

You may have noticed that I changed the name of the podcast. It’s no longer Cowgirl in LA, but it’s Cowgirl Monologues! Why did I change the name? Well…. I moved… I don’t currently live in LA. And how awkward would it be if I had a podcast called Cowgirl in LA and I didn’t even live in LA. So I thought Cowgirl Monologues was a bit more fitting.

So in honor of it being new years day and having a new name for the podcast, I thought it would be a good time to reintroduce myself and the podcast and update y’all on what’s happened in my life since we last spoke and give you a bit of an overview of the content that I’m planning for the next few months.

Plug in your earbuds, slip on your boots (or your crocs), and come take a walk with me!

Ep. 19 — Past Life Hypnotherapy w/ Maddy Stutz

Ready for some woo woo Cowgirl in LA shit? This week Maddy and I are talking about our experiences with Past Life Hypnotherapy!

Maybe past lives are real, maybe they're not, regardless both Maddy and I had positive experiences with this form of alternative therapy. For me personally, my hypnotherapy session helped me process and accept aspects of my religious trauma that were mentally holding me back. It was a healing and enlightening experience, to say the least!

And for those of you who make it through the whole episode, I share snippets of the audio from my session with Mayra about my past life as a danish immigrant who joins the Mormon church in New York.

Ep. 18 Book Club: The Change by Kirsten Miller w/ Courtney Wyly

This week we're doing book club! The Change is a novel written by Kirsten Miller. In the words of Tammy Cohen, the book is "Part crime thriller, part extended howl of pure rage, The Change takes a scalpel to the cancer of misogyny that infects every cell of western culture, with biting wit and a burning, righteous anger that never lets up. Powerful and original"

My friend Courtney and I discuss some of our favorite themes of the book as well as experiences we've had that helped us relate.

You can find Courtney and her vintage clothing store on Instagram @courtneywyly.

If you enjoyed this episode please share and leave a review on whichever streaming platform you use.

Ep. 16 — Woo Woo Capitalism w/ Stephanie Najjar

This week I'm chatting with Stephanie Najjar about the relationship between power, capitalism, and spirituality.

I found Stephanie on TikTok (a big thank you to the algorithmic Gods) and signed up for her course on Woo Woo Capitalism, which was a very thorough deep dive into toxic spirituality.  Stephanie talks to us this week about how to sharpen your critical thinking skills so that your spiritual values feel empowering and aligned with a bigger social picture.

As y'all know, I grew up very devoutly Mormon. After deconstructing the doctrine I knew that the church didn't align with my core values and decided to take a step back, which has sent me down a path of exploring all the different methods of spiritual practice.

I'm now living in Los Angeles, the woo woo capital of woo woo and I've started to notice red flags within the spiritual community here as well. Stephanie's courses have really helped me understand from a more academic level how power, capitalism, and spirituality can all be enmeshed.

I've really enjoyed getting to know Stephanie, and I think you will too! You can find her on TikTok (@itsclassicsteph) her courses can be found here. I highly recommend signing up for a course!

Ep. 15 — City Life vs. Rural Life

I'm back from spending the 4th of July in Arizona and I have LOTS to tell. I talk all about my high school reunion, marching in the parade with my "Pro Roe" sign, spending time with family, etc.

Coming back to LA it honestly feels like I've time traveled. Is time travel real? Are we living in a simulation? I'm inclined to say yes. Regardless, I talk about the hard truth of only being able to be in one place at any given moment and what the pros and the cons are of living in the city vs. living rural.

Happy Sunday!

Ep. 14 — 4th of July in Rural America ft. Ashley Ciminski

Howdy cowgirls! This week I'm dumping all my thoughts about 4th of July in Rural America. With the recent overturn of Roe v. Wade, my heart is heavy. But the 4th is the one time of year my whole family gets together and I have so many happy memories. It's interesting trying to balance the conflicting feelings. We have quite the celebration in Eagar, Arizona and at the end of the episode me and my friend Ashley Ciminski talk about our favorite memories and what changes we hope to see in rural America.

Ep. 12 — Utah Mormon Mom Tok

Maybe you've heard about all the drama happening on TikTok with a group of Mormon mom influencers in Utah. It appears that they've all been swinging (aka having sex with each other's partners🍍). TBH I could care less about what they're doing in the bedroom so if you're looking for those nitty gritty details you're not going to find them here.

BUT I am fascinated with the fact that they're choosing to air out all their dirty laundry on  TikTok. I go into the history of blogging (like we're taking it wayyy back in 2005) and how the "I Am A Mormon" marketing campaign that the LDS church initiated back in the day maybe could have potentially possibly (in my opinion) been the beginning of what we know today as "Mommy Bloggers".

They claim to be Mormon, are they? Is swinging normal in the Mormon community? How did we get to this place?

I dip into the LDS church's doctrine about eternal salvation and how that has bred a culture of perfectionism amongst women in Utah.

Last, but not least — what is the difference between an influencer and a blogger and a content creator, and an artist? Hope y'all enjoy!

Last, but not least, Tylene shares what sex education looks like in her home with her two children.
