Conversations of The ❤️Season 6-Episode 10-What's the Goal? Part 2 Featuring Dr. Jane Johnson Wall, LMFT

We’re back with Part 2 of our deep dive into the process of dating with Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Jane Johnson-Wall. In this conversation, we explore what really happens when the excitement of dating shifts from surface-level fun to the reality of building something deeper.

We unpack why it’s easy to get caught up in the vibes, fun, and commonalities—but harder to be truly naked with someone emotionally and mentally. What happens when the “fun” stops and real life shows up? We discuss the difference between chasing the dopamine hit of excitement versus embracing the vulnerability of honest, tough conversations.

From communication styles to self-accountability, we ask the real question: What’s the goal? Together, we explore how resentment can grow on both sides if tough conversations are avoided, and why seeking peace in relationships often matters more than chasing fleeting happiness.

If you’re navigating dating, love, or long-term relationships, this episode will challenge you to rethink connection, communication, and the path toward building something real

Conversations of The ❤️Season 6-Episode 8-What's the Goal? Part 1 Featuring Dr. Jane Johnson Wall, LMFT

In this episode, Jane Johnson Wall, LMFT, and I dive deep into the real goals of a relationship. Is the goal to “succeed”? To “be right”? Or is there something deeper we should be aiming for?

We explore how the inability to have tough conversations can slowly destroy relationships, and how selfishness, lack of compromise, pride, and ego often become silent killers. We also discuss how unaddressed trauma — and the resistance to therapy — can disrupt the peace and growth of a partnership.

Another big topic: How should we approach couples or marital therapy? Is it a tool for healing, or do we sometimes use it as a weapon against our partners?

These questions — and more — help us reflect on what truly matters in love and partnership. This is only Part One… Part Two is coming soon!Keep up with Jane: https://www.themotherloadcollective.com/

Conversations of The ❤️Season 6-Episode 7-Surving Chronic Disappointment Feauting Dr. Lori M. Nixon- Bethea, PhD, LPC, LMHC, NCC, ACS

In this deeply resonant conversation, Dr. Lori M. Nixon- Bethea, PhD, LPC, LMHC, NCC, ACSand I explore what it means to live through—and ultimately transcend—the slow burn of chronic disappointment. We begin by sharing the gulf between the lives we built and the dreams we once held, acknowledging the grief that comes from unmet expectations. Dr. Lori recounts her own journey from frustration and self‑reproach to a place of steadfast peace, grounded in the profound realization that life is co‑authored by God, not solely directed by our own hands. As she reflects on seasons when God felt silent, Dr. Lori offers compassionate wisdom: struggle can be a divine instructor, teaching us patience and attuning us to God’s perfect timing rather than our hurried agendas. Together, we shed light on a common but overlooked phenomenon—high‑functioning grief. So many of us soldier on, outwardly composed yet inwardly fractured, deploying church‑speak and religious ritual as shields against our own pain.We unpack the phrase “I don’t claim that,” often brandished as spiritual armor to deny reality—whether in physical health, mental well‑being, or relational struggle—and examine the hidden cost of such avoidance. Truthfulness, we agree, is the catalyst that begins genuine transformation. By naming our wounds instead of whitewashing them, we break the cycle of compounding trauma that festers when left unaddressed.Recognizing a gap in support systems, we advocate for expanded mental‑health resources and financial‑literacy programs within the church—initiatives that would not only fortify congregants but also protect pastors from burnout. Our dialogue then turns to gendered experiences of therapy: the unique obstacles men face when their struggles are minimized or dismissed, and the critical need for individual counseling before embarking on couples work. We consider how men and women can better bridge their differing emotional landscapes through open communication and mutual understanding.Ultimately, this episode is an invitation—to be honest about where we are, to lean into the hard truths, and to trust that, in our vulnerability, we begin the work of healing and renewal.About Dr. Lori M. But this episode isn’t just a warning bell — it’s a call to rediscover hope, healing, and faith. Dr. Regisford opens up about the transformative power of her Christian faith and how spiritual grounding became the anchor that pulled her from burnout to balance. We dive deep into her brand-new book, Rediscover the Power Within, which invites women of faith to reclaim their wholeness and begin living with purpose, peace, and passion.

Conversations of The ❤️Season 6-Episode 3-The Pursuit Of More Featuring Justin Belt

In this powerful and soul-stirring episode, we pull back the curtain on the often unspoken tensions between doing the work and not seeing the results. If you’ve ever felt frustrated despite your consistency—like you’re putting in the effort but the progress just isn’t matching up—this episode is for you. We get honest about the internal pressure to always chase more, even after we’ve achieved what we once prayed for. Why do we move the goalpost? Why do we forget to simply be grateful?

We explore the toxic loop of the “shoulda, coulda, woulda’s,” and how those nagging thoughts can quietly rob us of our peace. But this episode doesn’t stop at mindset—no, we go deeper.

We dive into the current state of Christianity, confronting the arrogance and pompous attitudes that have crept into faith communities. We talk about the dangerous merging of politics and religion, the rise of Christian nationalism, and how it has become a breeding ground for bigotry, misogyny, and performative righteousness. It's a tough conversation, but a necessary one.

But there’s hope—and healing. We also examine how therapy can become a sacred space, a mirror that reflects who you really are, and a path that can lead people back to Christ. Sometimes, clarity in therapy is what helps us realize: “I need God.” We talk about how mental health and spiritual health are not enemies but allies—how both can work hand-in-hand to bring us closer to purpose, healing, and truth.

This episode is deep, honest, and layered with hard truths, healing reflections, and hopeful takeaways. Whether you’re in a season of struggle, faith deconstruction, or personal growth—this one’s for you.

✨ Tune in, breathe deep, and let’s get into it. ✨

Conversations of The ❤️Season 6-Episode 2-Let's Talk C-P-R Featuring Chris James

In this bold and unfiltered episode, we dive deep into a critical and timely conversation—Christianity, Politics, and Race. It's time to talk C-P-R.We’re pulling back the curtain on the current state of modern Christianity and asking the hard questions:

🛑 Why is politics louder than the Gospel from the pulpit?

⚠️ How did Christian nationalism hijack the message of love, grace, and justice?

🎯 Why are pastors turning pulpits into platforms for personal beefs and political agendas? We explore the dangerous ways religion is influencing politics—and vice versa—and how racial dynamics are deeply embedded in both. From dog whistles to doctrine, we break down how faith is being used to push political and even racist agendas, and why the Church must reckon with its role in all of it.We also tackle the rise of political idolatry—when loyalty to a party or politician replaces devotion to God. It’s not just wrong—it’s chaotic. And it’s distorting the mission of the Church, dividing communities, and blinding believers to truth. This episode isn’t about picking sides—it’s about seeking truth, accountability, and healing in spaces where faith, race, and politics collide.Buckle up—this one’s raw, real, and necessary.

In this episode of Conversation of the Heart my special guest Jane Johnson Wall, LMFT educated us on the depths, layers, and complications of perinatal loss and birth trauma.

Jane is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) practicing virtually in California, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Florida. Her practice is women-centered, with an additional niche in perinatal/maternal mental health, including perinatal loss and birth trauma. She loves helping women feel empowered and connected to their inner bad-ass as they navigate through the various phases of their lives. She believes that the foundational component of a successful therapy experience is the interpersonal connection between therapist and client. Her clients would describe her as being relatable and easy-going. (*She likes to say that she lives in the “real world” too!*) That said, she will “lovingly” call people out on their $h!t! As part of her work in the field of perinatal/maternal mental health, she co-created The MotherLoad Collective, with her colleague, Kelsey Mizell. Conversations of The ❤️Season 5-Episode 11-Let's Talk Postpartum Depression Featuring Lindsay deOliveira

In the second episode of the post-partum series, Lindsay deOliveria dives into her journey through postpartum and what led her to helping so many women and families going through it. Lindsay is very raw, vulnerable, and honest about postpartum and the effect that it had on her and her husband. Postpartum is a very serious topic and needs to be spoken about more often and I couldn't be more thankful to Lindsay for sharing her story.

Lindsay is a mom, wife, and start-up founder. Her experience as a new mom with postpartum depression and a colicky baby led her down the path of helping new parents.

Conversations of The ❤️Season 5-Episode 9-Let Your Creativity Shine Featuring T. Michelle

In this episode of Conversations Of The Heart. T. Michelle & I embark on a conversation on overcoming obstacles and using your experience to fuel you creativity.

T. Michelle's Bio: I've been writing since the age of 9 years old. What inspired me to write was going through life experiences which were challenging and the push of my mother who made me read and write to her what I've read about. My dad use to tell me bedtime stories while acting out the parts. I have wonderful parents. That expanded my imagination. Reading books lead me to writing. Writing was like a mini vacation from present situations that took me away from negativity into a world of my own design.

I believe that stories should have a purpose. The goal of my stories is to help people overcome life's challenges, build self esteem, and to show the incredible abilities that lies within them. My imagination helped me to cope with life's challenges. I want it to do the same for others. The story of "Could you please tell me which way to the south," is about a little bird's challenge through a storm and how he overcame it by self determination, strength and boldness. He never gave up and in the end, he was rewarded.

I have taken my stories not just in books, but to the stage. I have been a drama coach for almost twenty years now and work for The San Bernardino School District. I've written numerous stories in which some have become musical stage plays. I am the owner of an upcoming theater company, "T&F Amazin' Storybook Productions." Life is Amazing because you can make it what you want it to be.
