Looking back from where we started! - “Ebenezer thus far you have brought us!” It’s important to name our places of victory, when we commemorate the place of our victories, we set permanent reminders of God’s goodness and his faithfulness. Just like the memorial stones we see erected in Genesis 28v10-22, Joshua 4v1-8 and 1 Samuel 7v7-12. We need to have reference points we can draw strength from in times of doubt and uncertainty, we can look back from where we started and see God’s track record of showing up and showing out for us! Another growth episode! Can we talk some truth and be transparent for a second? I was once obsessed with wanting to be a b…i…t…c…h because it seemed to be the only way to get people to respect you and not to take you for granted. But see, the more you grow in Christ the more you realise that your character doesn’t change because of the others inability to see your value. We don’t love because others love, we love because it’s what we are called to do and be. We are to be a reflection and an extension of his love. *Father’s Day episode special* Personally, the best characteristic for a father to have is the ability to see. I’m not just talking about the regular seeing with your eyes but, seeing beyond what is there. I believe that the best fathers see. They have oversight, they are able to see things from different perspectives in order to make sure everything has been covered and taken care of. They factor in everything! Always one step ahead because they see. They have vision and when Fathers have vision they are able to lead clearly. Matthew 6:8 "Your Father knows what you need before you ask him." Parents always have weird sayings they use in order to push their points across.. Take for example “So because you ate yesterday, you won’t eat again today?” It didn’t make sense to me then but as they say, with age comes wisdom. Realisation kicks in! Matthew 6 v 34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” Each day has enough trouble of it’s own. The truth hurts but it’s always necessary! Nothing about us is mediocre, so when we choose to function in mediocrity we are functioning outside of who he called us to be. Oozing excellence all the time doesn’t mean you don’t rest or take breaks but, it means anytime you find yourself doing anything, you do it with all your might. You do it to the best of your ability! The truth is that sometimes we get to this point especially as believers, where we our relationship with God starts to feel like same old same old.. Repetitive and monotonous! So what then? We go back to the basics! - We strip everything back so that we can understand afresh the “why”. A fresh understanding and a fresh revelation recharges your faith. Embrace the calling over your life and walk in it. Many times you find that when we run away, we’re not actually running away out of sheer disobedience but, more out fear and being afraid that we either won’t measure up or that we’ll get it wrong. Both are valid concerns but, the truth remains: 1. There is a need for what God has placed in your hands 2. You are chosen for a reason 3. You won’t go wrong if you check in with God at each turn. You’d be surprised that most times all we need to do is to keep it simple and not be so focused or obsessed with saying so much! God grants His light to us when we read and meditate on His word, and it’s not complicated. The truth in the Bible is quite simple. Yet so profound. But, you find that we are always adding random goal posts for things that don’t require a goal post. The gospel is not complicated. Isn’t it funny how we are constantly searching for clarity and direction? Unfortunately often times we are looking in the wrong place and even how we are looking is wrong. We tend to perceive bowing down or kneeling as being the lowest or lesser posture. We’ve grown up hearing “you must bow and kneel for your elders” - whilst it is done out of ‘respect’, it also distinguishes who has the upper hand. However....There’s something significant about bowing and kneeling before God. Our highest place is at his feet. We receive answers We receive revelation We receive understanding.... Sometimes we have moments where we feel we have been in waiting forever Put the truth is when we have got we have everything we need so, even though our desires and our wants haven’t come to pass yet we have what we actually NEED already because we have God. I was reminded that each time God has made and to wait, it has been for my own good and with that knowledge I am able to say to myself whenever I find myself in waiting that I can wait a little longer because, are we know waiting on God’s perfect timing is the best thing one can do! Whether you Tithe or not God still loves you! But if you understand the Principles of giving, then you will know that it’s in our best interests to give.

My tears express best what my words fail to in moments of pain and even joy. Tears have their own language, just like a parent can tell what kind of cry is coming out from their child is the same way God knows and understands the language of our tears. Psalm 56 v 8 “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” Abba knows, he sees and he understands my tears. Boundaries are there to protect us and to keep us guarded from things and situations that make us uncomfortable. Boundaries are there to define what we stand for as individuals. When we think “we are just being kind” at the expense of our own emotions and boundaries “we are just being foolish” Ecclesiastes 10:18 “when you dig a well, you might fall in. When you demolish an old wall, you could be bitten by a snake” BOUNDARIES ARE TO BE RESPECTED!
