4. Simple truths

How often does a simple idea change you for the better? How often do you pass over that idea—without giving it a second thought?

I've been collecting these ideas and calling them "simple truths." They're almost too simple—but maybe the profoundness is in the simplicity. Maybe the lack of finesse is what forces the action that produces the result.

3. I've had the wrong perception of obstacles

I'm beginning to realize I've had the wrong perception of obstacles. I always viewed them as something to avoid, get out from under, or dismiss as quickly as possible.

Now I view them differently. Maybe the most difficult obstacle is actually the perfect training ground to build the life you want. It's the thing that makes the Hero.

2. It's really hard to be present

It's really hard to be present. There are distractions like texts and emails, and there are distractions that we don't view as a distraction—even though they are.

The biggest one is thinking about the future. It's great and wise to plan for the future, but living in the future robs us of being present in the moment. It's a tough balance.

How do we live in the present while also preparing for the future we want to live?
