2. Healthy boundaries, entrepreneurship and addiction.

In this episode I talked with Barb Nangle. She is a boundaries coach, speaker, writer, and the Founder and CEO of Higher Power Coaching and Consulting, LLC and host of the podcast, "Fragmented to Whole: Life Lessons from 12 Step Recovery."

In 2015 at 52, after decades of therapy and tons of self-help work in various areas, Barb found herself in 12-step recovery. She’s been in two such fellowships since then and has changed deeply and profoundly. As a former addict and people-pleasing rescuer, she empowers people to live their lives on purpose by coaching them to build boundary systems in their personal and professional lives.

In addition to her own business, she has two part-time jobs supporting entrepreneurs. The first is with the Innovation to Impact project at Yale. I2I is a NIDA-funded program to train substance use researchers on entrepreneurship. Barb is the Community Engagement Manager on that project

She works as the Community Manager at Known Coworking in downtown New Haven. Known is an entrepreneur-serving organization that specializes in supporting BIPOC businesses.

1. Dr. Romany Redman: Healthcare in native communities, lessons learned while working in Russia

Welcome to our first episode of Chi Square podcast in English. In this issue, I hosted Romany Redman. She is a physician internist and pediatrician with Global Health experience. She worked in various settings, such as among native tribes in the USA. Romany lived in Siberia for two years working with a street outreach harm reduction program. She received a prestigious Fulbright award to conduct a qualitative study on Tuberculosis in a regional Tuberculosis hospital. Romany shared her story, told how her international experience changed her life, and offered her advice for those who are building global health careers. We also talked about how non-medical factors such as financial status or housing impact health. This conversation is unique because Romany and I were on an imaginary hike so you could hear a relaxing nature ambiance in the background. Which may immerse you into our imaginary relaxing hike. Please leave your feedback about this episode and share it with your friends to support this podcast. I would also greatly appreciate any financial gifts to help grow this baby further. You are also welcome to suggest a guest or a topic to explore.
