Rachel Tomajczyk sits down for this episode of Chasin' Trail to discuss doping in trail running. More specifically, the doping controls at the Golden Trail World Series races, and how it impacts runners of her caliber when it comes to fairness and accessibility.
With the recent doping scandal at Sierre- Zinal, which we covered on previous videos, it has come to our attention that this is truly becoming a problem in our sport. The increased amount of money has brought the cheaters out of the woodwork, and we will likely see more and more as the purses get bigger.
So, what can be done about this? Tune in to find out what Teddy and Rachel think. We also discuss Wombats, Batman, and marsupials. It's a fun episode, but it is also slightly thought provoking... but only slightly, this is Teddy Tonelli, after all. You can follow Rachel on both:

Chad Hall is an endurance athlete with a love the outdoors and pushing his physical and mental limits. As a life-long athlete from a family of athletes, Chad has an aerobic engine that is nearly unmatched. He is also a Mountain Lion at Heart. He also prefers Nutella to jelly on his PB&J sandwiches... but still likes jelly.
He is racing the Mammoth Trailfest for like, the 4th year in a row, going for the Triple Crown once again, as he prepares for his first "true" Ultra in Kodiak 100k by UTMB.
As a resident of Big Bear, California, we believe he is the odds on favorite to win the whole dang thing. But he will certain have competition, with the Forest Felon, Michelino Sunseri coming to town.
We also talk about Chad looking REALLY big, I mean good, in tights. Oh yeah, he is also a running coach, and it's hard to find a much better one.

In this episode of Teddy Talks, Teddy takes on the recent scandal of Joyline Chengeno recently being popped for doping after her win at Sierre Zinal, and later her win at UTMB OCC 2025.
Is there a doping problem in Trail Running? Is it limited to Kenya? Is Salomon part of the problem? We dive into the general questions, ones raised by many trail runners in the sport. With rumors swirling, how will we handle this recent event?
A universal, unbiased, governing body is needed before this gets out of hand... and Teddy is on the case.

Teddy and James are back together once again for a spectacular race preview of the OCC by UTMB. This weekend is essentially the Super Bowl of Trail Running, and we are focusing on OCC as we kick of this week in running.
There are some fan-favorites we expect to be on the podium, but will we have anu surprises? Notably absents? Tune in to find!A big thank you to Jame for having us on, allowing Teddy to ramble about international runners that he know virtually nothing about. Except for the fact that the UTMB Start Line smells like a freakin' farm. Filthy animals. Especially the French.
Will Jim Walmsley bring home a victory? Will Michelino Sunseri crap his pants? Find out on episode 23 with Teddy and James.

Coming off his most recent victory and Angeles Crest 100,where he put on a clinic, Max is coming on to explain his side of the story. Wenever thought Max would come on to confront Teddy, but give credit where creditis due: Max is a champion.

Have you ever wondered why D-Bo kept repeating himself on the @WesternStates Live stream? Well, wonder no more! It turns out, Jamil Coury from @AravaipaRunning had EVERYTHING to do with it. Is this a Conspiracy? No, it's facts. Probably. #trailrunning #dylanbowman #jamilcoury #conspiracy #ultra
Have you ever wondered what it's like to run not once, but twice... and win both times? What about winning 17 straight* races?! Well, Rachel Entrekin, aka The Blonder Bomber, aka Queen E, joins us on this week's episode of Chasin' Trail to talk about those things and so much more.

In this wild and wide-ranging episode of Chasin’ Trail,Teddy Tonelli sits down with trail running icon and thru-hiking Legend (his nickname) Jeff Garmire. We talk tigers (yes, literal and metaphorical), the Cult of Hardrock 100, and how High Lonesome might give it a run forthe money.
We cover poop stories, trail hanky panky, and the grittyrealities of going after the self-supported Appalachian Trail SOBO record—an absolutely massive endeavor that Jeff will soon tackle.
Jeff is the creator of the Free Outside YouTube andpodcast series, a fun-loving FKT crusher, author, and all-around Backcountry Goober with over 30,000+ trail miles under his belt.
From hallucinating on the Long Trail (Jumanji, anyone?)to sprinting to the finish on the JMT with potential kidney issues, he’s been through it all—and lived to podcast about it.
You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you might never trust a fartagain.

Russ Grant is a community first type of guy. Although youwill find him out racing, you’re sure to find him every Wednesday night takingpictures for the Northeast Trail Crew (links below).
He recently just finished his first 100 miler, completingthe Back Cove Backyard Ultra, totaling 104 miles in 24 hours and 20 minutes.
Lightening fast! He will soon be hosting the Hot Dog 40k, time to be determined, but it is probably gonna be a blast. Anything with hotdogs is a blast, really.
We also discuss Teddy’s ambition of starting the Hot Dog100, a 100k made for hot dogs, by hot dogs. A bunch of aid stations, a hot dog required at each. Vegans still being discussed… Leaning towards maybe.
We also discuss different uses of peanut butter. Is it good for chaffing? Find out!

Meet Natasha Swartley: Trail Medic, Long Run Enthusiast, Navy Veteran and all-around cheerful soul. Raised in the Appalachian foothills of Pennsylvania, Tashs could be described as a country girl. The Hillbilly roots running deep, Tasha naturally found her way back to the mountains after her time serving her country.
Natasha is here on the pod to talk about her recent experience at the Tahoe 200, along with working many a Destination Trail race as the medical lead. She has run multiple 100 milers, but the quest for 200 remains!
She is determined to finish Tahoe 200, so she will be back in 2026 for round two. In the meantime, she will continue spending her time roving the west coast race scene

What happens when two Italians get on a podcast? Well, they talk about running up mountains, food and chasin' Latinas. Naturally.
But Joe is coming off an impressive result at the Cirque Series, Killington race on 6/28. He entered his first trail race with little expectation, but finished only 30 minutes behind the great Dan Curts, while also finishing ahead of 3 Pros. Namely, James Lauriello, his brother-in-law.
We also learn that Joe's Mom is a big fan of the show, which was somewhat uncomfortable for poor Joe. Either way, we needed to bring Joe to the masses, because he may just be coming to a screen near you, during a race... like a trail race.
Joe is looking to move out West and continue his running journey, with an emphasis in the mountains. He is eyeing Colorado, but the entirety of the West has officially been put on notice... Joe is coming.
You can find Joe on Instagram at @joepezzo
Easy, right? Go give him a follow and keep up with his skyward trajectory! 🚀

Here is the 2nd part to the 2 part episode with Max Mogren. As the Trial of the Century is nearing it's end, we discuss the possibilities of local Jacksonites just being a bunch of jealous a-holes. From a previous record holder using his platform to be a world class hater.
Will Ryan Burke be the bad guy at the and of all this? Most likely, him and Kelly Halpin... both of which had something to lose when Michelino got the record. Nothing like some good old fashioned localism to protect the sacred Mountains.
If the Natives can't have it, the privileged Whites cant have it, damnit NO ONE can have it!
We also talk about how selling public land might be a good thing! Or do we? Find out on this episode of Chasing Trail!

Tim Tollefson joins us to discuss hair, donuts, and of course, the lightening round. But things definitely get interesting when Tim refuses to tell Teddy what kind of conditioner he uses. But will he reveal another hair secret?
We also get to meet Nacho, Tim's dog, and he is very cute. There is also some talk about running, specifically his baby, Mammoth Trailfest. Going into year 4, this are going to be big, real big.
And we also have a bit of breaking news on the show, tune in to find out. Does Tim secretly love croissants more than donuts??

As the trial of the century comes to a close in United States vs. Sunseri, Max and Tedy discuss the recent media blitz and how some Jackson locals may be jealous of Michelino's accomplishment.
The National Park Service came out and said, from Frank Lands himself, that NPS no longer supports prosecuting the case. But the esteemed Ariel Calmes didn't listen, ignored a Executive Order, and proceeded. Will it come back to haunt her?
We also talk about the broader implications of over-criminalization in America, but specifically on Public Lands. The Federal Government spends 6.9 trilllion each year.
Can you guess how much goes to the Public Lands and Conservation? Watch the episode to find out.
This is part 1 of a 2 part episode with Max Mogren, with the second episode set to release in a few days. Join the discussion and let us know what you think if this case.
Is the Federal Government wrong? Should Michelino be locked up for ever? We wanna know.

In this special episode of Teddy Talks, we dive deep into the federal prosecution of professional trail runner Michelino Sunseri, who set a speed record on the Grand Teton — only to be charged for using a historic trail long embraced by climbers and runners alike.
This isn’t just a story about a shortcut — it’s a story about access, bureaucracy, and how public lands are increasingly becoming fenced off by red tape and selective enforcement. We explore the historical parallels to past mountaineering feuds, the silence of the outdoor community, and why this case should alarm anyone who values movement in wild spaces. The public is the solution!

This episode of Chasin’ Trail is unhinged in all the right ways. Teddy Tonelli welcomes Scott Klingonsmith—aka Scrappy Chollo—to talk about racing up mountains, surviving with a heart condition, and why capybaras might be the key to world peace.
We cover:
His upcoming showdown at the Sunapee Scramble on June 1st, 2025
Growing up fast (and running even faster) with a heart condition
How chollos, breastfeeding metaphors, and capybara diplomacy somehow all connect
What it’s like being the weirdest and toughest dude on Strava
This isn’t just another trail talk—it’s trail running meets chaos theory, spiritual rodents, and altitude-fueled nonsense.
If you like your mountain podcasts fast, funny, and slightly feral, you’re in the right place.
Subscribe, share, and send a capybara to Congress.

Some would say that Max Mogren has some controversialopinions, that he is a “conspiracy theorist”. Well, Teddy wanted to have Max (not that Max, he’s still dodging us) on the show to discuss the upcoming court case of United States vs. Sunseri. He recently discussed the controversy in an Instagram post where he blasts the Feds for frivolous use of our tax dollars.
You’ll come to find that Max is out there fighting for thecommon man and is trying to preserve true access to the outdoors. Rather than build more roads into the parks, let’s prioritize funding for keeping the landshealthy, the opening of corridors for animals, and the reforming of the fee system to benefit the poorest among us.
This episode has its funny moments, and Teddy does his bestto keep up with Max, while giving some heart felt opinions of his own. At the end of the day, we have a lot of work to do if we want to truly preserve our lands and the beautiful plants and animals we know and love. We need to push back against the fraudulent tax scam of carbon credits, dust credits, and promote real solutions and tangible projects that will benefit life across this planet.
We also talk about how the government overreach is likehaving your wiener grabbed by a robot. Not fun. We also discuss the Joe Rogan Experience Max had with a Fleshlight and breaking a coffee table back in the day.
We also discuss Teddy’s phenomenal thighs in this episode, along with his love of cheese. He has Max steelman the argument for Michelino being thrown in Federal Prison forever. We also discuss how Michelino is like Frodo Baggins.

You saw the clips, but here is the full breakdown. Teddy gives a quick race preview of the Mammoth 200 by Trailfest in this week's solo episode of Chasing Trail and Teddy Talks.
Teddy also talks about the rich history of Mammoth Lakes, California, previously known as Mammoth City back in the old days. The Mono People originally inhabited the area, until gold was found.
Join us on this episode as Teddy walks through his decision to protect the sanctity of our sport, trial running, from another self-aggrandizing documentary... So we are making our own.
Help support Teddy's run and documentary making by giving a few dollars to the GoFundMe. It's a great help, you see, we need you!
