Season 6 Episode 2Erie Brewing Co. Dave, Bret & Ben had the pleasure of talking with Kristy Melquist, regional sales manager, and Richy Britton, head brewer, from Erie Brewing Company. Erie's history goes back to 1993 when it opened as a brewpub, called Hoppers, and then transitioned into a full-time brewery in 1999. We had a great time talking about what drove each of them to Erie and what they each enjoy about their roles in the business. Kristy loves expanding the brand to different regions and her quote is the title of this episode, "Change the world one pint at a time." Richy enjoys the science behind brewing and having creative freedom to experiment with new ideas to bring something new for people to enjoy. We step outside the central Pennsylvania area and our guest in this episode is Chris Lehner from Nepenthe Brewing Co. from Baltimore, MD. From a homebrew supply shop in 2013 to one of Baltimore's Best breweries, the story behind them is incredible.

Chris is the sales manager and you can even find Nepenthe in countries all over the world. WOW, talk about distribution. Chris talks about his journey to Nepenthe and creative artists behind the incredible can art. You have to listen in to the episode and more importantly, make a visit to them!

Chris brought with him a NEIPA, American IPA, East/West Coast IPA and a Double IPA.

Season 5 Episode 13Starview BrewsDave, Ben & Bret (no Kevin...again), had the pleasure of visiting Starview Brews in Columbia, PA to do another food and beer pairing. We welcome Mike Knaub, brewer and owner, and Amy Motter to the show and let them tell all us about their food and beer. Mike talks about his journey to open Starview and how is love of seafood came about. Amy's story is unique, she was a patron and now helps Mike with serving and social media. Mike chose some of his favorite dishes to share with us and what beer he and us would recommend.We sampled their Imperial Bisque with their Pinnacle Pils (8:07). Bytheway, this bisque is absolutely outta this world! Next, we sampled the Brussels & Bacon Flatbread with the Procrastinator Doppel Bock (27:41). We've been wanting to do this content for some time and we had a great opportunity to visit Back Porch Brewing Inc to pair their beers with their food. One word describe it - DELICIOUS!We were happy to have Tim Wickard back on the show and the co-owner and culinary expert, Ethan Lanious. Season 5 Episode 7 George Street Brewing Co. The whole CPP Crew was back in studio and they even found Kevin! Well, his recent surgery has him home and we were glad to have him back in studio. We had the pleasure of welcoming in Bill Sierra, from George Street Brewing Co., to tell us his story of how this idea became reality. From purchasing the location for the real estate and turning the commercial property into his own business. This episode was a little different than our previous ones, Bill brought with us some of their food and Penn Brewery beer, which is what they serve on tap. We paired his Pastrami Sandwich with Ever Grain Brewing Joose Juicey and the Northern Lights lager, Crab Dip with the Hefeweizen, Chicken Wings (plain & Buffalo) with the Dark Lager and Hefeweizen. Dave & Bret had the pleasure of welcoming John Shaffer from Antifragile Brewing Co. in studio. A Penn State University graduate that was in the wealth management field and started a brewery in downtown Penn State. From kombucha to having a an interest in starting a brewery, his story is phenomenal and is a must watch. He also helps facilitate the Hoppy Valley Brewers Festival in Beaver Stadium, which is right in the stadium. His vision and mindset will help him grow his vision. Season 5 Episode 3 Hops & Vines For Hunger Bret and Dave had the privilege of having Erin Haafke from Feeding Pennsylvania join us on this episode. Erin is directly involved with the initiative, Hops & Vines For Hunger. This is a movement to end hunger here in Pennsylvania that breweries and wineries can participate in.
