Well I didn't have high expectations for this game but it went worse than I was expecting lol. The Celtics lose to the Rockets 128-101!!! It was the second night of a back to back and this is an extremely athletic, big and very good Rockets team. With all that said, they killed us on the boards and shot lights out and this game was basically over mid third. So much so that none of the starters played at all in the 4th quarter outside of Minott who is still kind of in”prove-it mode”.
Honestly there aren't a lot of great individual performances in this one but it was great seeing Minott’s energy and continued success. It was also super encouraging seeing Baylor finally get into a rhythm. He ended the night leading the team in scoring with 17 points. Certainly a tough loss but we're onto the next AND we're finally heading towards a 4 game stretch against much easier competition than what we've had to face so far!

The Celtics beat the 76ers 109-108 in a Halloween bloodbath! The Celtics led by as many as 24 in this game and certainly struggled to score down the stretch after a scorching hot start. The scored 68pts in the first half shooting 56% from the field and 42% from 3 and those numbers plummeted to just 41pts on 32% from the field and 20% from 3 in the 2nd half. The late game execution was less than ideal especially in the last 30 seconds including some missed free throws and a disjointed inbounds play at the end but the Celtics pulled off a huge win!
Jaylen Brown led the way once again with 32pts on 68% shooting and 57% from 3 adding to his insanely efficient start to this season!! Outside of JB, the Celtics got solid contributions across the board including 15pts from both White and Pritchard. Although their 3pt shooting was horrible once again in this game, they impacted the game all over the place. Minott had a huge impact on the boards and Simons helped a ton with his 19pts off the bench. This was a great team win with contributions up and down the roster! After a sluggish 0-3 start, the Celtics have now rolled 3 straight wins to get back to .500 which is great to see!

The Celtics secured a 125-108 victory over the Cavaliers overcoming a hot-shooting start by the Cavs. Cleveland was lights-out from beyond the arc in the first quarter, going 10-for-12 on three-pointers, which helped them hold a slight 42-40 lead despite Boston shooting 56% from the field. The momentum shifted dramatically in the second quarter when the Celtics closed the half on a decisive 20-3 run. This dominant stretch gave Boston a 75-60 lead at the break, fueled by 50% shooting from three, 53% overall from the field, and a strong passing game with 20 assists on 26 made field goals. Crucially, the Celtics controlled the paint, outrebounding the Cavs 22-13 and limiting them to only two offensive rebounds in the first half.
The Celtics maintained control through the second half, leading 98-85 after the third quarter. JB was a scoring force, finishing the first half with 22 points, including an insanely deep 3 to close out the second quarter, and reaching 28 points by the end of the third. Derrick White provided key buckets and ended the game with 19 points, while Sam Hauser knocked down seven three-pointers to contribute 21 points. The team’s strong play continued into the fourth where the Celtics won another quarter 27-20! Overall, the victory was characterized by excellent ball movement, perimeter shooting, and superior rebounding, particularly in the first half.

The Celtics end their losing skid with a 122-90 win over the Pelicans. After losing 3 straight primarily because of rebounding issues, the Celtics come out and really put a stranglehold on the boards out rebounding the Pelicans 54-35!They still gave up 11 offensive rebounds but this was a much better effort on the glass and one that is certainly encouraging given how poorly they have looked thus far.
Anfernee Simons led the way scoring wise with 25pts and hit some huge shots in this one down the stretch. Offense rebounding did let the Pelicans widdle down the lead to just 5 points in the 4th quarter but the Celtics responded with a 20-2 run to really put the Pelicans away. This was by far the most complete game they have played this season. Let's see if they can build off this momentum!

The Celtics fall to the Pistons 119-113 and fall to 0-3 on the season. This was yet another loss that comes because of their rebounding efforts. The final 6 possessions of this game for the Pistons resulted in 5 offensive rebounds and 10 second chance points. If they clean that up, this game is won easily for the Celtics.
Coming into this season, I think it was pretty apparent that championship aspirations were off the table based on the quality of roster we have after this offseason but their ceiling is certainly higher than what it is right now. We knew rebounding was going to be an issue but I don't think anyone really knew how big of an issue it was going to be. IF, and I know this is a big if, the Celtics were even a mediocre rebounding team they could be sitting at 2-1 instead of 0-3 right now. It's going to be a long season so strap in! The Boston Celtics' first quarter against the Knicks offered a glimpse of a smooth performance, as the team jumped out to a 30-22 lead with great ball movement and pace. However, the game spiraled into an absolute nightmare in the second quarter. The Knicks dominated with a brutal 42-14 run, fueled by an 11-0 and a 17-0 burst. Boston struggled with turnovers and could not stop the Knicks from scoring 16 fast break points and grabbing 12 offensive rebounds in the first half. This collapse led to a massive 64-44 halftime deficit.
Though the Celtics were unable to mount a full comeback, they showed flashes of resilience in the second half, spurred on by picking up the full-court defense in the fourth quarter. Individually, there were highlights, including big three-pointers from Pritchard that helped stop a Knicks run and another that began to close the gap in the final period. Jaylen Brown hit some tough shots, including an early third-quarter three and a pull-up three late in the fourth. Additionally, Hugo provided a boost with excellent defense and his first NBA bucket. Ultimately, the deficit was too large to overcome, and the Knicks secured the 105-95 victory

WE ARE BACK!!! AFTER A YEAR LONG HIATUS, BOSTON CELTICS GAME DAY RECAP IS BACK AND SO ARE THE CELTICS!
The Celtics dropped their season opener 117-116 to the 76ers in a heartbreaking fashion. After building a 13 pt lead, Philly led by Tyrese Maxey and Rookie Sensation VJ Edgecombe, went on a tear and pulled off a gritty win in Boston. Losing to Philly always hurts but it hurts a bit more when Embiid is a shell of himself. He was truly horrible tonight but Maxey and Edgecombe combined for 74 points!!
There were a lot of positives to take from today as well as some negatives. From a positive standpoint, this team is going to be fun to watch. They pushed the pace, got out in transition, rebounded significantly better than I was expecting because of a gang rebounding mentality where they all crash and they still have a good offensive punch.
From a negative standpoint, losing an All NBA Defender like Jrue Holiday is going to be a problem against guard heavy lineups like this 76ers team. Their transition defense, although it improved the second half, was horrible in this game leading to 21 pts. Overall, it was a fun game to watch but there is still a lot to learn about this team!

Brad Stevens continues to GOAT himself by locking up the entire core for next season highlighted by Jayson Tatum signing his Super Max Extension and Derrick White's 4 year $126Mill hometown discount contract! White opted to sign an extension now instead of testing free agency this year where he could've signed a 5year deal worth up to $237Mill. We now have our top 9 guys all locked up and even got Queta back on a 2 year minimum deal giving a little more depth at the big man position. All eyes are on Xavier Tillman's potential return OR the potential return of another beloved Celtic.
The only downside to today's amazing news is that Celtics ownership group and Wyc Grousbeck are planning to sell the franchise. It has been amazing having fans of the Celtics backing the Celtics because they were willing to do what was needed to win. I'm definitely scared of what is to come with whoever decides to buy the franchise.

If you didn't believe the NBA was scripted, maybe you do now (I'm just joking). What makes it even sweeter is the fact that after getting criticized over and over for being overpaid, JB won Finals MVP!!
This team has been special all year long. It was clear from Day 1 that they had the talent to win it all but there were still questions. People questioned whether or not the Jays had the mental fortitude to do it. They questioned whether or not Mazzulla could do it. They questioned whether they had been tested enough during the postseason. Well all those questions have been answered!!! The answer is YES!!! God, I cannot wait for the parade later this week!!!

Wow, this game was as miserable as it gets. The Celtics lost 122-84 BUT are still heading back to Boston up 3-1. The way they lost this game left a lot to be desired. The energy wasn't there from the jump. They were outscored 13 in the first, 13 in the second, 6 in the third and 6 in the fourth. It was truly a disgusting game to watch. With that being said, every game counts exactly the same and the Celtics now have 2 days to relax, watch some film and get ready for Game 5.
The good news for Celtics fans is that Porzingis was Available in this game under emergency circumstances so I would expect him to play in Game 5. The Celtics have also done an unbelievable job bouncing back after losses and this one will be on our home court in front of the best fans in the world. This game was ugly but it's only one bad loss. Time to wrap this up in Game 5 on our home floor!

The Boston Celtics beat the Mavericks 106-99 and take a 3-0 series lead and are just 1 win away from Banner 18!!!!! JB continued to push his case for Finals MVP with 30pts 8reb and 8ast on an efficient 12-22 from the field. He came up clutch with 24pts in the 2nd half including 9 of the teams 21pts in the 4th quarter! Tatum started the game really hot but definitely came down in the second half but that is when JB turned it up!
Porzingis wasn't able to play tonight BUT we got great minutes from Horford and then Tillman was the big off the bench and he provided huge minutes throughout the game. He also hit a corner 3 that made the bench absolutely erupt. This was a true team win and not necessarily just from a scoring perspective. Everybody had clutch moments throughout the game and you just love to see that. Teams that go up 3-0 in series are undefeated so it is looking up!!! 15 wins down, 1 to go!!!

The Celtics beat the Mavs 105-98 and take a 2-0 series lead and are just 2 wins away from Banner 18!!!! Jrue Holiday stepped up big time in this game leading the way 26pts and it seemed like all of his pts came from being in the dunkers spot with easy buckets from Tatum or JB drive and dumps! The biggest play of the night came with the Celtics up 103-98 where Derrick White and JB met PJ Washington at the rim and came up with a huge block and then JB gets a huge bucket to ice the game at 105-98!
While Tatum's shooting struggled continued in this game, he was 1reb shy of a triple-double leading the team in rebounds and assists and continues to do what the team needs. The Celtics were able to pull off this game in the clutch with some huge efforts across the board and now all eyes are on Porzingis who went down once again. Mid 4th quarter, he went up for a rebound against PJ Washington and came down awkwardly and started limping before being pulled for the remainder of the game so fingers crossed that isn't anything serious. The Celtics play again on Wednesday and look to steal a game on the road to take a 3-0 series lead!!!

The NBA Finals is here and so is Kristaps Porzingis!!! The Celtics have not had this big of a boost off the bench in a loooongg time and it led to a 107-89 W in Game 1!!! After his remarks during Media Day, I don't think it was super surprising that KP came off the bench but he looked as fresh as ever and was a major spark off the bench with 20pts 6reb and what should've been 4blks! He only played 21 min in this game but the Celtics felt every bit of it.
Outside of him, JB was phenomenal and honestly looked like the best player on the court including Doncic at times. JB was killing it on both ends of the floor and really kept the Celtics firing on all cylinders all night long. What separates the Celtics from the Mavs so far in this series is their ability to switch defensively and actually get contributions from role players. Luka certainly went off and got his but the Mavs ended the game with 9ast which is frankly pathetic lol. The Celtics need to continue to pressure the "Other Guys" and let Luka do his thing similar to what we do against Philly and Embiid. What a huge win!! On to Game 2!

THE CELTICS SWEEP THE PACERS AND ARE HEADING TO THE NBA FINALS!!!! Jaylen Brown won the Eastern Conference Finals MVP deservedly so. He was spectacular this series and in this game. He had 10pts in the 4th quarter and a couple of monster defensive plays down the stretch as well as the assist to White for the 3 that put the Celtics up 105-102. After missing out on an All-Defensive nod and and All-NBA nod, I'm super happy for him to get some recognition.
Past JB, we had phenomenal contributions from a lot of guys. Holiday continued his dominance on both sides of the ball, Tatum was very unselfish and was just 2ast shy of a triple double, Derrick White obviously hit that go ahead 3 I just talked about but he also had 5 steals and 3 blocks which is insane to say. This was another unbelievable comeback victory from the C's. NBA Finals here we come!!!

The Celtics found themselves down 18pts in this game and mounted an incredible comeback to win 114-111! Tatum led the way scoring wise with 36 but it was Al Horford who stuck out the most to me. He had 23pts on 7-12 from deep and seemed to hit every big shot we needed from him. Holiday certainly struggled from the field for most of this game but had a huge And 1 to go up 112-111 and then a monster steal that led to 2 more FTs to ice the game at 114-111.
Our entire starting lineup made big play after big play down the stretch which is good because we got absolutely nothing from our bench. Pritchard, who has been solid, didn't do a whole lot. Hauser has continued his awful stretch of basketball. While Brissett played well in Game 2, he didn't look very good either but credit to Mazzulla for not sticking with him long and giving Tillman some run because he looked solid out there. This was another game the Celtics had no business winning but they found a way and that is the most encouraging part! On to the next one!!
The Celtics blow out the Pacers 126-110 taking a commanding 2-0 series lead. Jaylen Brown led the way with 40pts and was damn near unstoppable in this game on both sides of the ball. Jrue Holiday played another outstanding game with both Tatum and White playing well in the second half. They were both pretty horrible in the first but they turned on the jets in the 2nd half lol.
While JB should be the story of this game, Tyrese Haliburton leaving the game might take some of the headlines. He left in the third quarter and did not return so that is a major question mark come game 3. Funny enough, the Pacers scored more in the 2nd half than they did in the first half with him out there BUT they had to rely on Siakam going off and I don't know how sustainable that is over the long term if Haliburton can't play or not. Either way, this was a solid win. Onto Game 3!!

WOW the Celtics beat the Pacers 133-128 in OT taking a 1-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. This game was as nerve wracking and fun as it gets. The Celtics were down 115-110 with just under 2 minutes to play and forced an OT after JB deflected an inbounds off Siakam giving them the ball down 3 with 8 seconds left. He then went on to hit a ridiculously hard corner 3 tying the game forcing an OT silencing all the haters who keep saying the Celtics can't perform in the clutch.
JB deserves a ton of credit for 2 massive plays down the stretch but Holiday may have put together his best game of the postseason for the C's. He was doing everything tonight and Tatum wasn't far off either. Tatum certainly missed his fair share of shots down the stretch but he also came up big in OT with 10 of the Celtics 16pts! This game was far from perfect and hopefully the Celtics learn from this and come out with a greater sense of urgency in Game 2. We need to play Celtics basketball and stop trying to match the pace of the Pacers because that is dangerous territory against Indy. Onto Game 2!!!
