Biblical Thoughts in Proverbs | A Layman Dad’s Perspective
Ask For AND SEEK Wisdom Prov 8
"I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me." - ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭8:17‬‬ Wisdom can be found. It is also a gift from God. I think God wants to give wisdom to those who are actively seeking it. If you’ve got two men who both love God and both pray to God for wisdom. But one seeks out wisdom, and tries to apply Gods word to different scenarios in his life. I believe that God will give the active man more wisdom than the man who simply asks for it. You need to ask for it, but I think this scripture supports the notion that God wants us to seek it out.

Proverbs 6 lesson: Take Action
"Give your eyes no sleep and your eyelids no slumber;" - ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭6:4 ‬‬"save yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the hand of the fowler." - ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭6:5‬‬ When you’ve made a mistake and the correct action is clear to you... waste no time taking action. This is valuable wisdom in this specific case of apologizing, and repenting, and then correcting course. It’s also great advice for life in general. Once you know what you need to do... do it! Don’t worry about perfection or the chance of failure... frankly, figuring out the right thing to do is THE THING! Thats the hard part. Once you’ve decided... no need to waste sunshine! Get after it! I want to embody this sentiment and I want to inspire my kids to take calculated risks. (The calculation should be is this thing worth doing? If the answer is yes, then go for it and learn from the success or failure).

What am I teaching my kids?
What are we teaching our young children to prioritize? Solomon was taught to value and prioritize wisdom. What am I (are you) teaching our kids to prioritize? When God asks them what they want... how will they answer?
