Impostor syndrome, also known as impostor phenomenon or impostorism, is a psychological occurrence in which people doubt their skills, talents, or accomplishments and have a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as frauds.[1] Despite external evidence of their competence, those experiencing this phenomenon do not believe they deserve their success or luck. Regardless of how long you've held leadership roles, you'll often find yourself facing impostor syndrome. Impostor syndrome is a thought pattern where individuals doubt their achievements and have a persistent fear that they will be exposed as frauds. If you start to lose confidence in yourself, be deliberate with your thoughts to help you stay the course and not lose confidence, suggests speaker and coach Paul N. Larsen in this episode. He also share powerful and poignant stories of his own experiences and his strategies on how to overcome these challenges one tiny step at a time, everyday. About the SAGE and GUIDE podcast: Presentations and conversations to unleash authenticity and influence excellence in leadership. All leadership starts with a moment and becomes a journey, and a symphony. During these times every leader has to be a sage on the stage and at times, a guide by her people's side. Through all these stages effective leaders connect, engage and influence in ways that seem almost magical. Yet, research in neurosciences and neuropsychology tells us that these leaders follow certain principles and practices. This podcast will explore, amplify and celebrate such leaders, their strategies, and their successes at work and in life. There are three reasons why people hesitate to set goals and achieve them.
The first is that people, do not know how. They know they want to succeed, win, grow, evolve, and have better control of their future. They also know that there is wisdom in setting goals but they, simply, do not know how. The second is fear of failing at achieving goals and then facing disappointment, loss, ridicule, etc., And, the third reason, also, fear of success. What does that mean/ It means if they reach a certain height of achievement and success they begin to worry about failures later, after success. They feel the drop and the disappointment will be higher. I know the last one is quite counter-intuitive but IT is true.
In this episode, Raju blends in some neuroscience with the psychology of setting and achieving goals with examples and stories in less than 30 minutes.
Often we all work on our external appearance and behavior to gain and feel confidence. That works for a while, claims Counselling Psychologist and Image Consultant Vandita Singh from Mumbai, India.
What really works, she claims, is when we manage to step out of the facades and self-deceptive habits that we have formed over time.
Listen in to recognize what we do and how we can improve our confidence authentically and then influence our worlds.
Talking to @Kahlil Bagatsing was like chatting with a blood brother. We did not start out with the intention of talking about #leadershippresence and #response but ended up doing just that and naming the episode such.
At Upwardly Global, Kahlil helps professionals in the USA find a job that fits their fancies and their skills such that they optimize and excel.
The reason we chose that topic title, essentially, is because Kahlil's presence and responses were calm, cool, collected, compassionate, and congruent I begged to explore that element of his personality and I thought leaders across the world would love to experience and emulate.
Have a look-see!
Enlightenment with a Systems Thinker plus a Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher, Ms. Dinah Salonga of the Philippines. Whether we like it or not, consciously or unconsciously, we are all constantly being influenced or influencing others to change.
Those that succeed powerfully at making the world around them a better place know how to tap into the core and congruence of their being and then lead others into a brighter tomorrow.
Happy to have started off this conversation with the Communication Wizard from Dubai, Rohit Bassi.
Rohit makes some fabulously profound points about Wisdom, Ethics, and Discipline when it comes to mastering the essence of authentic communication to influence your world.
Powerful insights from a powerful, global speaker who traveled across oceans to speak, share and change the world.
For a long time I did NOT want to talk about gratitude. Perhaps, I wasn't much grateful inside of me OR perhaps, I thought "gratitude" was for the birds. It was soft, fluffy, and mushy like pink cotton candy. Nope, I did not much care for an attitude of gratitude until I was asked to do a workshop on it a few months ago.
Now, I have learned that gratitude carries a better kick than mindfulness, meditation even days and months of hedonistic indulgences.
Here, in this last episode for 2022 and the first one for 2023, I have made an effort to capture the essence of my discoveries on the path to being grateful.
It is though partly connected to self-acceptance which you can hear about in Episode No: 3 on Self-Acceptance here.

It was an amazingly beautiful and insightful conversation Nina Elizabeth Woodard of Colorado, USA. Nina's big-picture view of India, her detailed insights, and her experience with India, Indian Leadership and Values make good for thoughts for businessmen wanting to invest in India and for Indian executives to succeed with the rest of the world.
In this episode, virtuoso facilitator, John Philipp Green from the United Kingdon shares his insights, his experience and his tips on how to blend in the gentle art and science of facilitation into leadership.
Process facilitation is about having a clear destination and a strong route map. We keep this map simple and straightforward: This means you can all contribute fully to the event, knowing that our neutral facilitator is managing the timings and structure.
Here's how:
One, become really and truly good at what they do. Day in, day out all the immersion into acquiring new knowledge, building skills and minding behavior needs to have one singular focus and that is to serve the needs of the client, the customer, the need for creative construction.
Two, stay flexible and fluid to the dynamics of change. Keeping the client-desired outcomes in mind the facilitator must live and thrive in the moment of what constantly emerges. Fuel the emergence gently when it is virtuous and empower the client to stretch and own the change when it is not.
Three, strive to stay invisible in the present and become redundant in the long-term. No better glory in driving change when the change recipients come and claim that they did it on their own and they can continue to evolve and grow on their own.
Performance excellence needs to be unleashed, catalyzed from outside often because people, to play safe overtime, hold themselves down out of fear, doubt, or out of sheer lack of awareness.
Claims, Dr. Dilip Abayasekara, that often it requires an external, objective, and benign observer-coach to help us notice and then unleash that internal brilliance and potential.
Hope you enjoy and learn from the wise and gentle words of pastor, speaker, coach, and international director of Toastmasters, Dr. Dilip Abayasekara.

To mold, to modify, and to motivate others with your voice, given whatever quality of your vocal cords, you must set up a powerful and authentic intention. So if you want to calm, console, or encourage then your whole being must want to do exactly that. Your voice will then flex accordingly and deliver the message with precision and compassion.
This was an amazing conversation with former TV Host and now prolific Voice Artist Nikki Martinez who gives her voice to audiobooks, wellness apps, and other services.
