Paul makes it clear that Christians need examples to follow in our pursuit of godly living. John 3:16 is one of the most quoted and well-known verses in all the Bible. Its context is an intimate conversation between Jesus and a Pharisee named Nicodemus in which Jesus says that one must be “born again” to enter the kingdom of God. Together we will explore what Jesus meant when He said one must be “born again” along with its effect on us now and throughout eternity. --- Celebrating the sacraments is all about recognizing the work of Jesus in our lives through the gospel. Those being baptized are taking a significant step of faith by identifying with Jesus in baptism to express outwardly what has already taken place inwardly by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. By sharing communion together, we take time to remember what Jesus accomplished for us by grace in His death on the cross and through His resurrection.

Spiritual growth is to be a never-ending process in a Christian’s life. Even the great Apostle Paul said that while he was alive, he still had maturing to do, and he made it his life focus to continually grow up in Christ. Likewise, as Christians we are to keep on striving in the faith so that we can attain the fullness of life God intended for us. --- Wanted: A joyful life! The life of Jesus should bring us to a place of wonder. The wonder of his birth, years of ministry, death and resurrection and promised return should cause us fill our hearts with wonder and lead us to worship Him.

The greatest treasure to be found on earth is a relationship with God that comes through knowing Jesus. It is not enough to know about Jesus, God wants us to experience a life-changing personal relationship with Him. We live in a world that is filled with pride and selfish ambition. As Christians, we are to do nothing from selfish ambition, but in humility count others more significant than ourselves. We are to look not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of others. Paul gives us two examples of model servants that we can aspire to be like.
