Mambo Afri-WATU!
Would you belive that it is only after over 100 episodes that AfriWetu will finally take a break before the end of the year! Well we didnt either.
Truth is, so much is happening behind the scences and in order to give these exciting ideas the best possible chance of launching well....it means something had to give, only for a short while! So dont panic!
Thank you for always being the best ever listeners, we shall be back on the airwaves for S7 in the coming year, and you will LOVE it Afri-WATU, promise!
As always a huge thank you to Big City Studio, who make even five mins of AfriWetu sound EPIC! And has been the best production hands down!

This has been an EPIC journey, and to give it the respect its due...it had to take a few more moments in the background just for you...yes?
So here we are, I hope you enjoy the show as much as I did working on it and with the amazing production from Big City Studios as ALWAYS making it a dope ride in the past.
We shall be back with a short announcement in a couple of weeks before AfriWetu goes for a short break for a few months - so much cooking over the many pots going on in the background - good things are coming your way!

So excited to share with you the first part of one of the most well known Empires in the world, the Kanem-Bornu Empire!
This was a mighty task to research and so very worth it, it is one of those civilisations you think you know, and then just like that, another deeper layer is uncovered. Even after alllllllll the material out there, it still feels like there is so much unsaid! We would love to hear from the descendants their stories of their ancestors, check in with us!
Thank you as always to Big City Studios! Always delivering the BEST production!
Until next time
Mubarikiwe!
Afri-WATU!
Welcome to the conclusion of the Kasanje Kingdom!
We get to meet the rulers and the actual Imbangala military society. It was a great journey learning about this kingdom and bringing them to life for you all.
As usual a huge thank you to Big City Studios for making this sound so good and correcting my sound errors!

Afri-WATU!
Welcome to the first of our African Ancestor Kingdoms of S6! The Kasanje Kingdom!
We start with a powerful and right in your face civilisation whose infamy and reputation precedes them.
The Imbangala (sometimes also known as Jaga) were FIERCE and they used all the tools in their control and power to subdue their enemies and those unlucky enough to cross their path.
As usual a huge thank you to Big City Studios for correcting all my dodgy mic sound...you truly work wonders to create a whole new world.
Until next time
Mubarikiwe!
HABARI ZENU AFRI-WATU!

Afri-WATU!
Welcome to meet a new amazing ancestor civilisation from our continent...The LOZI Kingdom.
There was a myriad of emotions when studying this kingdom, mostly because their ideals of honour and respect is so deeply rooted and shown so very obviously in their culture then and now.
They, like us here today, really revered their own ancestors and it was just awesome to find out more and to see how the celebrated life and death in equal measure.
But enough from AfriWetu, tune in and travel back in time.
As usual a HUGE thank you to Big City Studios for always delivering!
Until Next Time...
Mubarikiwe!
Mhoroi Afri-WATU!
It's the final episode of the Rozvi Empire, what a journey it has been right!
To this date this influence is felt across southern Africa and they hold a special place in modern Zimbabwe. Their exploits and reach were a testament to their military and diplomatic prowess.
It's always the hope that this makes you want to dig deeper into your own ancestor stories and give us a nudge if you want AfriWetu to look deeper into your own civilisations/kingdoms/empires....
As usual a huge thank you to Big City Studios, for not just the excellent sound-scaping and production, but also...turning this episode around in record time!
Until next time
Mubarikiwe!
Mangwanani akanaka Afri-WATU!

Until next time,
