Meet Jeremiah Ukponrefe (Um-Poor-Uh-Fey) from Toronto, Canada. He's a sci-fi writer doing stand-up comedy and he'll be talking with us about going the course with two mediums. I've always wondered what makes an artist take on an additional medium when their original medium is barely treading water. It's not that the medium isn't doing well, it's that it's fresh and in its infancy. Every time we set out to try expression in a new way there comes a fear of rejection and failure. Thankfully, the more we experience those that may not like us, the more resilient we become. Join us as we speak about sacrifice, creative collaboration, and being the perfect shade of strange to set yourself up as a beacon to "find your weirdos".

Meet Simran Parekh, a mental health professional from India working with adolescents and young adults. It can be hard taking on the art scene on your lonesome, but you don’t have to struggle if things are getting hard behind closed doors. Reaching out and seeking help can be one of the best business moves you make. It can help you reach deadlines on time, manage different commitments, and it can help you understand yourself better. With a better understanding of what kind of limitations you may have, ways you need to care for yourself, and things you may not want to be exposed to, you’ll find more confidence in speaking up for your needs in negotiations. Join us as we discuss different modalities of therapy, and enjoy some tips from abroad covering when and how to speak to mental health professionals for the first time.
