Endometriosis! A condition that affects 1 in 10 women of reproductive age globally, yet it still takes an average of 7–10 years to get a proper diagnosis. That’s a whole decade of pain, confusion, and being told “it’s just bad periods.”
In this episode of A Dose of Health, we cut through the noise with real stories and expert insights on what it’s really like to live with endometriosis, how to recognise the signs and why better treatment options are still out of reach for so many.
Here’s the real kicker: despite affecting millions worldwide, funding for women’s health research (endometriosis included) remains disproportionately low compared to conditions that affect men. The result of that is slower innovation, fewer answers and far too many women left to suffer in silence.
It’s time to change that. Advocacy is important, but it can’t stop there, we need the same level of investment in research and innovation as we give to raising awareness. Because women deserve more than conversations, they deserve solutions just as much as men do.

Whatever they say about second chances is absolutely true! This week, we’re welcoming back a lovely guest and a breastfeeding advocate, Dr. Ng’endo Mburu. She’ll be sharing her personal journey with breastfeeding and how, during her second attempt, everything changed for the better.
