Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 29. I will then key in on verse 20 - Do you see a man hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him. Friends, we are to be mindful of the words that will be coming out of our mouth. Our words can bring forth life, or death (Proverb 18:22) - so think carefully before you speak. On today's podcast we will be continuing our study of the Gospel, according to Luke. Today we will be going over the account of Jesus dying on the cross for us. This is found in the 23rd chapter of Luke, verses 44-49. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. Father, into your hands I commit My spirit.
2. My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?
3. It is finished.
Scriptures referenced on today's podcast:
Proverb 29:20; Luke Chapter 23:44-49; Psalm 31:5; Matthew 27:45-56; Mark 15:39; John 19:28-30
Call to Action - For 1-2 minutes I ask that you close your eyes and ponder what it must have been like when Jesus was on that cross (taking on all of the sins of the world).
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 28. I will then introduce you to Sherri Fant, a three-year graduate of Charis Bible College. She graduated with a Practical Government experience. She goes over her favorite verse of Proverb 28 and her early childhood. She has the amazing testimony that she gave her heart to the Lord at the tender age of 5! She goes over her experience at Charis, her mission trip, her experience in Practical Government and what she is up to these days.
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 27. I will then key in on verse 21 - The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, And a man is valued by what others say of him. Friends, God continues to work on each and every one of us every day. We need to be aware that, as Christians, people will be watching everything we do and every word that we say. We are to act accordingly. On today's podcast I will be continuing our study of the Gospel, according to Luke. Today we will be going over Chapter 23, verses 26-43 entitled The King on a Cross. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.
2. Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 23. I will then key in on verses 24 7 25 - The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, And he who begets a wise child will delight in him. Let your father and your mother be glad, And let her who bore you rejoice. Friends, the greatest joy a parent can have is the knowledge that they children (and grandchildren) have received Jesus as their Lord and Savior! On today's podcast we will continue our study of the Gospel, according to Luke. Today we will be going a passage of scripture entitled Taking the Place of Barabbas. We will be covering verses 13-25 in Luke, Chapter 23 (as well as looking at Matthew's and John's account of this event). By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. Have nothing to do with that just Man.
2. Pilate took water and washed his hands before the multitude.
3. Although completely innocent of all sin, Jesus suffered the most horrible, disgraceful punishment known.
Scriptures referenced on today's podcast:
Proverb 23:24-25; Luke 23:13-25; Matthew 27:15-26; John 19:7-12
Call to Action - Have you received Jesus as your Lord and risen Savior? Has your spouse? Have your children? Have your grandchildren? Determine that you will leave a legacy that your family will come to know (and serve) the Lord.
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 22. I will then key in on verse 4 - By humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches and honor and life. On today's podcast I will review the lesson that I began on Monday (Episode #903 - If you did not get a chance to tune in to that podcast I invite you to do so). I will go over the two points I brought up on that lesson (I did not get a chance to bring up the 3rd point). I will then complete the lesson I had intended to finish on Monday - and add a bit of new information for today's lesson. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. My kingdom is not from this world.
2. When Herod saw Jesus he was exceedingly glad.
3. Then Herod with his men of war, treated Him with contempt and mocked Him.
Scriptures referenced on today's podcast:
Proverb 22:4; Matthew 27:11-13; John 18:28-38; Luke 9:7-9; Luke 23:6-12
Call to Action - Ask yourself this question - do you have humility? Do you have a healthy fear of the Lord? If you answered yes to those two questions you can expect to have riches, honor, and life! (What an exciting promise)!
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 21. I will then invite my special guest, Rick Whitford. He is a third year student from Charis Bible College. He will share his upbringing, how he came to know the Lord, meeting his wife, and where he is at now.
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 20. I will then key in on verse 9 - Who can say, "I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin"? Friends, I picked this verse today because we are in the process of charging Jesus to the point of crucifying Him. Yet, He was totally sinless. This verse reminds us today that none of us is sinless - we may do our best not to sin, and yet we still do. On today's podcast we will continue our study of the Gospel, according to Luke. Today we will be beginning Chapter 23. We will be going over the first five verses - which are entitled Jesus Handed over to Pontius Pilate. There was a bit more material in this lesson than I had time for - so we will continue where we left off today on Wednesday's podcast. By the end of this lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. Jesus proclaimed that He was the king of the Jews.
2. Judas felt remorse for having betrayed Jesus.
3. My kingdom is not from this world. (we did not get a chance to get to this point on today's lesson - but we will get to it on Wednesday's podcast).
Scriptures referenced on today's podcast:
Proverb 20:9; Luke 23:1-5; Matthew 27:1-2; Matthew 27:3-10; Acts 1:18-19; Matthew 27:11-13 (didn't get a chance to go over); John 18:28-38 (only got through half of this passage today).
Call to Action - Considering our verse of the day, Jesus was sinless - thus verse 9 did not apply to Jesus. However, it does apply to everyone who tuned in to today's podcast. My question for each of you is - Are you aware that you are still sinners? If we knowingly sin, we still need to confess our sins today.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 17. I will then key in on verse 24 - Wisdom is in the sight of him who has understanding, But the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth. Friends, if we have wisdom and understanding, then we are not a fool. Having understanding will prompt us to get into the Word of God (the Bible) and we will eventually acquire wisdom. On today's podcast I will go over four verses having to do with our redemption. These four verses declare the goodness of God, and the mercy He has on us. He loved us so much that He sent His one and only son, Jesus, to earth - to die on that cross for us (so that all of our sins would be forgiven. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.
2. He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves.
3. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.
Scriptures referenced on today's podcast:
Proverb 17:24; Isaiah 44:22; Galatians 3:13; Colossians 1:13; Romans 3:24; Psalm 107-2
Call to Action - Do you understand, clearly, of the redemption that we now have? Are you thankful for it? Do you thank Jesus for it?
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 16. I will then key in on verse 16 - How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. Friends, I think many of us do not fully grasp the importance of acquiring wisdom in our life. God told me 901 episodes ago to begin this podcast. He told me that everyone needs wisdom, and to begin a podcast with that as the theme. On today's podcast we will go over the account of Peter's denial of Jesus and Jesus meeting with the Sanhedrin - where he was convicted. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. Peter denies Jesus three times.
2. Jesus was mocked and beaten.
3. Though the people would kill Him, Jesus would end up at God's side.
Scriptures referenced on today's podcast:
Proverb 16:16; Luke 22:54-71; John 13:38; John 18:26
Call to Action - I ask that you consider verse 16 of Proverb 16 and ask yourself if you truly understand how important having wisdom actually is?
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 15. I will then key in on verse 9 - The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But He loves him who follows righteousness. Friends, this is a powerful contrast between those who obey the commandments found in the Bible - and those that don't. If you don't follow the commands, God hates it! - but, if you do He loves it! That is a pretty compelling argument to do what He commands! On today's podcast (my 900th podcast!) we will be continuing our study of the Gospel, according to Luke, we will go over the arrest and betrayal of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. In Luke's gospel it entails Chapter 22, verses 47-53. By the end of today's podcast there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. Friend, why have you come?
2. God's will was for Jesus to go to the Cross.
3. When Jesus said, "I am He," they drew back and fell to the ground.
Scriptures referenced on today's podcast:
Proverb 15:9; Luke 22:47-53; Matthew 26:48-56; Mark 14L50-52; John 18:4-11
Call to Action - Simple question - do you read the Bible? Do you follow the commandments given to us in the Bible? Or - do you follow your flesh, and do what you want to do? Something to think about!
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 14. I will then introduce you to my special guest for the day, Sarah May. Sarah is a fellow second year Charis Bible College student from Germany. She shares about her upbringing and how she came to receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 13. I will then key in on verse 10 - By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well advised is wisdom. Friends, when Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane He felt the same apprehension that we would feel if we were going to be facing crucifixion. He prayed to God for Him to take away this cup (of God's wrath) from Him. However, He followed up with Nevertheless, not My will, but Yours be done. On today's podcast we will pick up where we left off on last Thursday's podcast (Episode #897 - If you didn't get a chance to tune in to that podcast, I invite you to do so). We will be going over verses 35-46 of Chapter 22. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. Even though Jesus was sinless, He would suffer a criminal's death.
2. Pray that you may not enter into temptation.
3. Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me.
Scriptures referenced on today's lesson:
Proverb 13:10; Matthew 10:9-10; Luke 22:35-46; Hebrews 5:7-9
Call to Action - Ponder for 2-3 minutes how Jesus felt while He was in the garden (as discussed in today's lesson). Then, put yourself in that garden, and ask yourself how you would feel?

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 10. I will then key in on verse 7 - The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot. Friends, we are to live with righteousness at all times (to the best of our ability). If we do that, we will be remembered once we breathe or last on earth. On today's podcast I will be going over 8 scripture verses with the word peace as the focal point of these verses. Many people in our world today live their lives worrying, being anxious, being troubled, being depressed, or living with a fear of many things happening in their lives. I'm believing that today's scripture verses will give you peace, encourage you, and increase your faith.
