Die beiden Bundesligaspieler berichten unter anderem über ihre Erfahrungen mit der Nationalmannschaft, erste Auftritte im Ero Cup gegen Teams wie Pro Recco und den harten Weg in die A-Nationalmannschaft des DSV. Doch warum kam der Wechsel vom SVK erst jetzt und was hat das Abitur damit zu tun? Das erfahrt ihr in den nächsten spannenden knapp 20 Minuten! Außerdem gibt es die Auflösung, was die beiden wo und wie lange studieren und welchen Einfluss das familiäre Umfeld dabei hat. Mit der Verstärkung der Metten-Zwillinge hat sich der ASC Duisburg in dieser Saison gut und perspektivisch verstärkt. Elias und Lennox kommen vom SV Krefeld 72 wo sie seit ihren ersten Wasserball-Schritten gespielt haben. Nach der schnellen Teilnahme an den ersten Meisterschaften und dem entdeckten Talent, konnten sie nun den nächsten Schritt einleiten. In Duisburg sollen sie zu festen Größen weiterentwickelt werden und sind dabei auf einem guten Weg. Aber nicht nur sportlich haben die Zwillinge allerhand um die Ohren. Nach dem Abitur haben sie nun in Düsseldorf das Studium der Zahnmedizin begonnen und können somit ihre beiden Leidenschaften dank der "kurzen Wege" bestens vorantreiben. Aber spätestens nach dem Abstieg des SV Krefeld 72 aus der A.-Gruppe, zeichnete sich ein Wechsel zu einem anderen Verein ab. Seid gespannt auf Elias und Lennox spannenden Ausführungen. Auch im zweiten Gespräch mit Dr. Ralf Schauer gibt es wieder spannende Ein- und Rückblicke in die Coronazeit. Aber viel wichtiger ist, was wir als Wasserball Community und als Verband daraus gelernt haben bzw. noch immer lernen. Nämlich zum Beispiel, dass die Bedeutung eines Mannschaftsartztes der mit der Mannschaft unterwegs ist aus vielerlei Gründen ein enormer Vorteil ist und in vielen Fällen große Probleme ausschließen bzw. reduzieren kann. Nicht nur das ein Arzt im Krankenhaus gänzlich andere Informationen bekommt als ein Trainer und auch in Sachen Doping (auch durch vermeintlich harmlose Nahrungsergänzungsmittel) kann ein Arzt eine große Hilfe sein. Es gibt auf jeden Fall vieles an das Trainer, Spieler und Ärzte denken müssen.

Erinnert ihr euch noch an Corona? An Masken überall, leere Schwimmhallen, leere Zuschauerränge und Hygienekonzepte? All das scheint uns schon sehr lange her zu sein, aber in der Tat ist all das nicht so lange her und schon gar nicht heutzutage nicht mehr existent. Mitten in dieser Zeit habe ich das erste Mal mit Dr. Ralf Schauer über das Thema gesprochen und damals lautete der Titel der Episode "Corona im Wasserball - Es war, ist und bleibt sehr schwierig". Erschienen ist diese Episode am 07. November 2020 und heute schauen wir mal, was von den damaligen Annahmen so eingetreten ist und was es braucht um bei einer (hoffentlich nicht eintretenden) Pandemie besser vorbereitet zu sein. Was muss bzw. sollte jetzt unternommen werden und welche Lerneffekte haben wir gemacht. Ein weiteres wichtiges Thema, was nach der Legalisierung von Canabis aufkam, ist das Thema Doping. Denn nicht nur wenn ich bewusst leistungssteigernde Substanzen einnehme hat das Konsequenzen für mich, sondern unter Umständen auch wenn dies unbewusst passiert. Was man dabei beachten sollte um nicht in Probleme jeglicher Art zu kommen, darüber klärt Ralf ebenfalls auf. Eine Sache, an die sich vor allem international tätige Schiedsrichter gewöhnen müssen, ist, dass sich die Wahrnehmung und die Erwartungen an einen selbst verändern. So ist man irgendwann nicht mehr nur Kollege, sondern wird zum Mentor oder Ratgeber für andere (vor allem jüngere) Schiedsrichterkollegen. Auch daran musste sich Frank nach eigener Aussage erst gewöhnen. Gewöhnungsbedürftig sind auch die international und national unterschiedlichen Eskalationsstufen. Also wann kann ich mit welcher Reaktion rechnen. Hier kommt dann das Fingerspitzengefühl ins Spiel, das auch schon mehrfach betont wurde. Das ist auch gefragt, wenn man als Schiedsrichter sowohl Männer- als auch Frauenspiele pfeift. Denn für Frank sind manche internationalen Frauenspiele (aus den unterschiedlichsten Gründen) anspruchsvoller als manche Männerspiele. Warum, das erfahrt ihr in der heutigen Folge :-) Aber wie wirken sich die jüngsten Regeländerungen auf das Spiel und damit auf alle Beteiligten aus? Es ist nicht immer einfacher geworden, denn die unterschiedlichen Perspektiven auf eine bestimmte Aktion führen dann auch zu einer Vielzahl von Meinungen zu dieser Aktion. "Eine WM-Finale leiten zu dürfen ist das Ergebnis jahrelanger Arbeit" - Frank Ohme Im August 2020 habe ich mir Frank die Episode 9 des Podcasts aufgenommen. Da ist doch interessant zu erfahren, welches Feedback er auf "seine Episode" bekommen hat, oder? "Der Podcast hat sich etabliert" sagt Frank und gibt uns Einblicke in welchen Momenten er dies bemerkt hat und zu was der Podcast immer mal wieder anregt. Wie genau ist die Ansetzung des WM-Finales 2024 zustande gekommen und was macht eine solche Nominierung mit einem persönlich? Kann man den Druck der entsteht verarbeiten und wenn ja wie geht Frank mit diesen Umständen um? Nicht nur Mannschaften müssen sich auf wichtige Spiele vorbereiten, sondern auch die Schiedsrichter. Aber wie genau funktioniert das? Tauscht man sich mit anderen Schiedsrichtern über die unterschiedlichen Methoden der Vorbereitung aus? Frank gibt einen Einblick in seine persönliche Vorbereitung. Aber er geht auch auf die Beziehung zwischen Schiedsrichter*in und Spielern*innen ein, weil ein Schiedsrichter oder Schiedsrichterin nur so gut sein kann wie die Menschen im Wasser. Was muss man als Schiedsrichter*in, außer der Beurteilung der jeweiligen Szene im Spiel, noch bedenken? "Zu viele neue Regeln in kurzer Zeit, machen es nicht einfacher für alle Beteiligten". Hierzu gibt Frank vor allem zu den Themen Zeitpunkt und Auslegung neue Impulse die zum Nachdenken anregen.
